Even with the COVID pandemic and some quarrantine measures in place, we noticed that there are two Korean craze that are still at an all time high in terms of popularity: (1) Samgyupsal and (2) Mukbang.  Just to join the bandwagon, we decided to try out All4U Unlimited Grill & Shabu Shabu and see if we could do it too.

So what exactly is Mukbang about?  Mukbang is a portmanteau word that comes from combining two (2) partial Korean words: (1) muk-ja which means eating and (2) bang-song which mean broadcast.

Thus, Mukbang is a Korean trend that started in 2010 where the Broadcast Jockey (BJ) (Korea's term for vlogger) consumes a lot of food in front of an online audiovisual broadcast.

As the popularity of Mukbang is still growing, some BJs are even incorporating ASMR which stands for autonomous sensory meridian response into their style of broadcast.

So we were all very excited to see if we have a potential in riding this Mukbang craze.

In every social community, there's a compass that leads us to where we are.  In our family, we're all agree that it is our mom.  We all admire her for being an action person.  Once she sets her mind on something, she quickly acts on it.  So last year around March, when everyone was preparing for the possibility of a lock down, she craved for Japanese Souffle Pancakes and we ended up going up just for Motto Motto.

As we look back at our photos and recall the memories of that night, we can't help but feel grateful that we did go out that night.  Little did we realize back then that it would take a very long time to dine out as comfortably as that time...without masks, face shields and acrylic dividers.

Also upon writing this, we've come to recognize that time is indeed relative.  Even after a year, our recollection of this moment is immensely sharp as if not a year has passed because there weren't any other dining out experiences that filled the rest of the year after this.

With GrabKitchen Mix and Match, we were able to have Japanese Spicy Tuna Saladfrom Omakase and Vietnamese Goi Cuon - Fresh Spring Rolls from So Mot as appetizers, Chinese Spareribs with 8 Spices and Salt & Pepper Squid from King Chef and Vietnamese Mi Xao - Stir Fried Noodles w/ Chicken from So Mot as main course.  We even had Vietnamese Banh Mi Ga - Chicken from So Mot and Tito Choripan from Pepi Cubano as afternoon snack.  Not bad for one delivery fee right?
