I had a craving for fries, thin-crust pizza, and a chili dog recently and decided to create a dish that can
have the combined flavors of my three favorites! If you’ve read my recent entry on Fatburger, you
noticed that I liked the crunchiness and fluffiness of their fries. This dish is inspired by my experience.
Baking a crispy dough requires complex skill and practice so I improvised with an easy, affordable and convenient method. Good thing US frozen fries can be pruchased easily at a nearby supermarket and can be stored conveniently in the freezer (they can last for a long time too). They’re also gluten-free.
I’m steering away from gluten because it slows down my digestion.
Since I needed crispy fries to imitate crispy pizza dough, I chose the shoe string variant which is quicker to bake to a crisp golden brown.
The fries are very versatile so if you're not into cooking, you can simply just observe by the color and you can produce the right texture. As for the toppings I used Cattle Drive Gold Chili with Beans which is one of the best in terms of beefy flavor and it’s gluten-free too.
Here’s the step-by- step process of my US Crunchy Skinny Chili Cheese Fries Casserole Recipe:
Ingredients
1. Spray cooking all on baking pan
2. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F
3. Place frozen fries in thin layer over the baking pan
4. Cook in preheated oven for 30 minutes until brown and crispy
5. Add canned chili with beans (any brand)
6. Add salt and pepper to taste
7. Add shredded cheddar and cheese
8. Cook in preheated oven for 4 minutes
9. Serve while hot
The fries are crunchy even with the gooey cheese. I love that US fries have several of variety cuts. If
you want crispy, definitely go with shoe string fries.

Fatburger is a US franchise that started in 1952. It’s located in 150 locations with its HQ located in
Beverly Hills.
Knowing this, I was surprised that it made its way to the foodie radar here in the Philippines.
I ordered a nice Chicken Burger spiced with Cajun. But, what caught my attention was their Chili
Cheese Fries. They use US Potatoes for their fries and offer them in two variants: fat or skinny. I chose fat fries because I was craving something thick and fluffy . I definitely made the right choice. The fries were really smooth, but still had crunch.
That’s what I love about US potatoes – crunchy on the outside yet fluffy on the inside.
The Chili Cheese Fries are surely a winner! I’ll definitely visit Fat Burger again and try their skinny
version for a different experience. I just love how US Potatoes have so many cuts to choose from
which makes it fun to consume and even cook with!
Fatburger’s Chili Cheese Fries are part of Potatoes USA’s Poutine festival wherein they partnered
with 4 restaurants to serve limited edition poutine dishes starting November 2017 until February
2018. To know more about the promotion and other US potato facts, visit the Potatoes USAFacebook page.

It's been awhile since I've discovered a new joint so I was all in to check out Eleven.8 Cafe, Bar and Restaurant upon invite.
Eleven.8 Cafe, Bar and Restaurant is located at the ground floor of Pacific Global Hospitality Institute (PGHI) Hotel. One of the co-owners is a chef and instructor so I was really looking forward to the food. According to the owners, they aim to be a cafe, breakfast place, meeting place venue, chill place at night and even a cooking lecture venue.
The place is very simple and laid back.
Food
We were served the typical bar chows. Frankly, my expectation were not met. Even by the simple color of these fries, I could tell they used re-used oil.
w
I really have nothing much to say about the food. The meat did not have anything spectacular in terms of taste but at least they were tender. I feel the execution wasn't as ironed out as it should be. The pasta was overcooked and soggy.
Drinks
But, the drinks were a hit!
I'd say the it was worth the trip just for the drinks.
All the blends were smooth and addictive!
Both ladies and gentlemen will enjoy all their selections.
Yes, I'd recommend having some of their drinks while listening to a few gigs on a weekend night.
