I've long been hearing a lot of raves over Sonya's Garden. But, it requires traveling all the way to Tagaytay so I never thought the family would one day just spontaneously decide to dine there.
We arrived there for late lunch. There were lots of roadsigns so it was easy to find. Parking was a breeze too. We first spotted the Panaderia first as it was in the parking area.
It was almost emptied so we were not able to buy anything. .
We continued walking on across the garden taking photos and observing the beautiful plants.
There were some houses which we didn't check out.
There's a plant store...
and there's a gift shop called Country Store too.
The Conservatory is nice because you get a private dining set up inside a greenhouse where plants occupied half of the area. I imagine this to be a very nice venue for romantics.
I guess the family did their research because they knew we would be dining at the Morning Glory.
Food
When dining here, you have no choice but to avail of the set menu so the pasta is already set up buffet-style.
The place looked like one that would be perfect for a wedding reception. It had chandeliers and draped white linen cloth above. Tables were all covered in white linen cloth matched with wooden chairs. The windows reminded me of the one we have in our ancestral home in Ilocos. And, the floors were made of red bricks. It was a bit hot but air-coolers are stationed by the side.
You can customize your Pasta.
There's also Spring Roll to pair with your pasta.
Complimentary Bread with 4 dips were served on our table.
The highlight of the set menu is the Garden Salad which has various ingredients picked fresh from the garden.
You can garnish them with a selection of fresh fruits, cucumber, flowers, egg and tomatoes.
This is my creation. And, I had a second plating too since the ingredients are refillable. =)
This is my white pasta.
And, my red pasta.
For dessert, we had the Tarragon Tea and delicious but thin slice of the Chocolate Cake from the Panaderia.
Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
There's just something magical with Sonya's Garden holistic experience that keep alluring and luring people to come back for it.

Legend of India: Exploring More on Indian Cuisine (Jupiter Makati)
Makati, Metro Manila, Philippines
My mom doesn't like Indian Cuisine and my little sister doesn't like spicy dishes so I was surprised to my delight that everyone was in the mood to try Legend of India one random night.
Right at the heart of the restaurant district in Jupiter Makati, Legend of India has a big glittery signage making it noticeable and easy to remember by passerby.
Inside is a simple dining area with a loud TV playing Bollywood movies. Each table is already set up with a complete table wear and candle lights too.
By the side, there's a store where you can buy ingredients, food and also order snacks and desserts.
Food
Vegetarian Appetizers
The Samosa is a triangular crunchy puffed pasty filled with vegetables. We loved this especially with their delicious dips: Mint Water (Green) and Tamarind Sauce (Black).
Non-Vegetarian Appetizers
Forget about chicken nuggets cause this very crunchy Chicken Fingers with their amazing sauces will win over you anytime.
Vegetarian Lovers
The Vegetable Curry is mixed cubed vegetables in delicious thick Indian curry sauce.
The Palak Paneer is blended spinach mixed with cottage cheese. We all loved this! I look forward to having more paneers.
Mutton Lovers
The Rogan Josh is mutton curry. I've always loved mutton dishes. But, they come to me so rarely. Between the Vegetable Curry and this, this is my clear choice.
Rice
The Chicken Biryani is flavorful but not too much so you can pair it well with the other dishes.
Breads
The Aloo Paratha whole wheat flour bread stuffed with potato. While I've had Roti Prata stuffed in cheese before, this is the first time I've had flat bread with potato. Well, it works well and I don't mind having it again even if it means twice the carbs.
The Pudina Naan is flour-based flat bread topped with mint leaves. I love this!
Desserts
The Kuffi is Indian ice cream. When I was told by the staff that they use carabao milk, I was expecting the Kuffi to be like Arce Dairy ice cream. But it's really different. This one is so thick that it's more of a really sweet, rough and dense like pastillas than an ice cream. But, it is really cool. And, it has rose syrup on it and pistachio bits.
The Green Pista is really sweet pistachio pastillas topped with pistachio bits. I would have enjoyed this had it not been too sweetened with honey.
Indian Drinks
The Sherbet Soda or rose water soda and Rose Lassi are a bit too sweet. But, the
Mango Lassi is perfect.
Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
Legend of India is an awesome place to explore more of Indian Cuisine. Despite having not a good impression of Indian dishes in the past, the family seemed to enjoy this dining experience and we're now ready to go further.

Masuki Since 1930: Affordable Chinese Noodle Soup Mami (SM Mall of Asia MOA)
Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines
The family has two favorite affordable restaurants in SM Mall of Asia: El Pollo Loco and Masuki. Since I've shared about the former, this time I'll proceed with the latter.
Masuki is located right next to El Pollo Loco. The sign is huge so it's easy to spot.
This is just a branch as the original pioneer one established since 1930 is in Chinatown. According to my mom is used to be Ma Mon Luk then Ma Kong.
The dinning area is simply but clean-looking.
Food
Short Orders
The Pork Siomai is one of the best siomai for us. Just look at its size and a bite of it will confirm that it's pure pork without any extenders.
Mami
If you enjoy light tasting broth or want your broth to taste dominantly of Masuki's special sauce, the
Wonton Chicken Mami may be a good choice for you. They are quite generous with their ingredients. The chicken is tender enough. And, the wonton is as chunky but small in size compared to their Pork Siomai.
I always prefer the heaviest and most extravagant variant available so the Beef Chicken Wonton Mami is always my choice.
A lot of people use the Special Sauce as a dip for their noodles like eating the Japanese soba or tsukemen. A lazy one like me, would scoop some this into my bowl. To tell you the truth, their broth is too light for me but I don't mind having it when dining with the family.
Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
Masuki Since 1930 has built its own style and brand with its Special Sauce as the key factor. It's good, unique and affordable so I can see that its success will continue on in the coming years.

While, I couldn't be in Japan to witness the blooming of cherry blossoms, I'm fortunate enough to be invited to Tokyo Bubble Tea's Sakura Season Launch last week.
I'm quite surprised that Tokyo Bubble Tea is a homegrown concept because their Japanese fusion drinks and meals are awesome!
For the Tokyo Bubble Tea's Sakura Season Launch they have introduced 3 new Sakura JCC Milk Teas: Sakura Royal Milk Tea, Sakura Strawberry Milk Tea, and Sakura Taro Milk Tea and 3 new Sakura Bento Trays: Sakura Soy Ginger Fish, Sakura Chicken Katsu, and Sakura Ebi Furai with Hamburg.
I got to try the Sakura Chicken Katsu. This is my first meal at Tokyo Bubble Tea by the way and I'm very impressed. This is a very delicious and wholesome meal.
I've always loved the regular Tokyo Bubble Tea's Taro Milk Tea. The Sakura Taro Milk Tea is even better.
We also got to try Honeybon's Sakura Mango Roll.
It was very beautiful and the price is reasonable too.
I loved the Sakura Mango Roll because it has a slightly tangy and sweet taste. It was also very light and fluffy.
If you mix and match the Sakura Bento Trays and Sakura JCC Milk Teas will get to pick a prize from the special Sakura tree which is overflowing with exclusive Tokyo Bubble Tea merchandise including super cute plush toys and snazzy tees featuring our three favorite Bubblets, Sakura, Midori, and Ichiban! You can also get some awesome vouchers.
I already got the Sakura. I want to collect them all! =) The Sakura Season is available for a limited time stating from April 15 so let's try our luck!
