Although Log Cabin is famous for their Saturday Buffet's cooked by their French-native Chef Aklay, who has worked and lived in 27 countries before he decided to live in Sagada. We didn't have a chance to drop by Sagada on a Saturday so we chanced upon their breakfast offerings which is only available during the Holy Week to cater to the influx of tourists.

Their breakfast menu is limited. Its either omelette or home-made sausages.
Two home-made sausages, fried egg, wheat bread and native coffee
Since they ran out of home-made sausages due to the Holy Week rush, they substituted the other sausage with a Potato Rosti. Their home-made sausage is pretty good. The Potato Rosti was okay. Their wheat bread is tastier than other wheat breads I've tried.
Although the breakfast meal is good. It was nothing extraordinary. Hopefully, we'll get to visit them again and try their Saturday buffet.

A newly opened Singaporean Fast Food at SM Manila is Chickchat. Unlike other fast food and restaurants that are found at the ground floor and basement of SM Manila, we were surprised to find Chickchat on the second floor right across SM Appliance center.
UPDATE: This is now closed (as of June 2012)
Chickchat has a happy and colorful modernistic ambiance that makes you feel cozy and comfortable as you dine. Friendly staffs greet you as your enter. Upon ordering at their counter, staffs even suggest their recommended dishes. As you glance on their menu, you'd be surprised at how affordable their dishes are. Whether its chicken, pasta or salad, an entire meal is at most 150 php. They're merienda meals are even cheaper. A great selection for less than 50 php.
Food
If there's Singapore's famous Cereal Prawns, well there's also ChickChat's specialty Cereal Chicken. A bite in their Cereal Chicken covered in crispy oatmeal unleashes the tender juicy chicken meat inside. This comes with Hainanese Chicken Rice. The rice is so delicious you can eat rice alone! It had a fragrant taste of pandan and chicken broth.
The name Spicy Chicken Paoger made me wonder what paoger meant and then it hit me. "Pao" means buns in Chinese and the "ger" must be a shortened word for burger. So wrapped between the two buns, they are chicken tenders, onion rings, carrot and radish strings and lettuces. Unlike the traditional burger that contains only mayonnaise, the Spicy Chicken Paoger is seasoned with curry sauce and mayonnaise.
Allthough Spicy Chicken Paoger is spicy but not too much so that you can appreciate all the flavors together.
The Spicy Chicken Paoger comes with BBQ Flossy Fries. So how to make french fries Singaporean oriented? Well, Chickchat defined their own version of BBQ french fries by adding meat floss.
Their Singaporean Chicken Rice is a must try! The chicken is so tender and tasty, it is so deliciously addicting with or without sauce. When coupled with their fragrant rice, you just can't stop eating more and more! For its price, this is the best bang for the buck meal ever!
Their Beef Bolognese is one of the best you can get from a fast food restaurant. The taste similar to Pancake House Spaghetti but with its own unique twist.
Drinks
Aside from the ordinary soft drinks, Chickchat offers Red Iced Tea and Lemon Green Iced Tea. The Red Iced Tea are for those who prefer a sweet drink while the Lemon Green Iced Tea is light and refreshing.
If you enjoy eating buffalo wings, then you'll love the Honey Baked Wings. The fact that these wings are baked makes them healthier than fried buffalo wings and its less greasy too. Its sweetened by honey that not only add flavor but makes it smell good too.
Dessert
The Ube Pandan Sundae is a perfect combination of Ube and Pandan flavors. What I love about this cold treat is that it's not too sweet so its light and refreshing to eat and enjoy.
The Buko-Melo-Mango is a rich blend of healthy ingredients such as coconut strips, pomelo strips, mango syrup and coconut milk. Of course, all the toppings are mixed in shaved ice to make it iciliciously good!
Overall, everything seems delicious in Chickchat. Whatever order you decide, you're sure to be in good hands. Chickchat is one of the best fast food restaurants around! You should definitely try it. It offers generous servings and quality food.

Along the National Highway in the town of Solano in the Smoke-free Province of Nueva Vizcaya is Gorio's Food House Restaurant. Gorio's Food House Restaurant is a large wooden cottage type restaurant with wooden picnic-type tables set up. It was a typical canteen or "carinderia-type" eatery. But, it offers local and native Filipino dishes. Some are not typically available anywhere.
Although the Chopsuey originated from China, this dish has become a favorite dish among Filipinos. Gordo's restaurant makes use of organic vegetabel ingredients so you can appreciate the fresh natural taste of vegetables.
Filipino Dishes
It was my first time to taste an Adobong Pato (Spanish for duck). Gorio's serving was full of necks so I was not able to taste the meat that much. It was more like we ordered Adobong Pato skins. It was okay. This was served a bit cold already so it was not as delicious as it would have been if it was hot.
Another first time for me is to try Dinuguang Pato. Dinuguan is actually blood stew. The typical ones I've tasted is Pork Dinuguan. The Dinuguang Pato is delicious! It contained duck internal organs along with the blood stew. It's worth a try.
We also tried the Pritong Pugo (fried quail). It was not that good. It tasted weird as if not cleaned well.

Their Filipino dishes such as the Pinakbet, Lechon Kawali, Beef Steak and Menudo are good but nothing special. Since it is a canteen type, the food are not freshly cook instead they are only reheated upon ordering. However, food are pretty decent given the price they offer.

When visiting Sagada, be sure to stop by the yellow painted house with a signage "Sagada Lemon Pie House". Established only in March 21, 2008, Sagada Lemon Pie House has rapidly gained its popularity through blogs and word of mouth.
Upon entering, you could see their Lemon Pies and Blueberry Pies displayed on their pie shelves. They have wooden tables set up with pillows and woven mats as seats. The set-up reminds me of the Japanese style of dining.
Lemon Pie
As the name implies, the Lemon Pies are the main and specialty product of Sagada Lemon Pie House. Their Lemon Pies have a soft, light, and spongy sweet meringue layer contrasted by the mildly sour and tangy lemon curd that are sure to win your taste buds. What's great about their Lemon Pie is that the meringue is not too sweet and the lemon curd is not too sour making the experience light and refreshing that you just can't get enough of it. The lemons they use are freshly picked and grown from the Sagada Mountains. Their lemon pies can last for 5 days as you put them in the fridge or any cooler places out of direct sunlight so you can buy a Lemon Pie pan for only 180 php and take it home to share it with you're family and friends. To reheat them use a regular oven or an oven toaster and set to high heat for 3-4 minutes. Microwave heating is not recommended.
Blueberry Pies
Blueberries are available in Sagada in the early summers so if you're in Sagada during the period, grab the chance to taste the Sagada Lemon Pie House version of Blueberry Pies. Get to taste the fresh locally picked blueberries of Sagada with their Blueberry Pies. Their blueberry pies are not only filled with fresh blueberries, there are also apple bits to add fragrance and sweetness. Their Blueberry pies could last for one week so grab a Blueberry Pie pan for only 260 php and bring it home to share the joy with your peers and family.

Visibly seen along Connecticut Street through its large glass window is the elegant Lugang Cafe. The elegant lighting and modern interiors of the place is one of a kind. It majestic wooden doors will lead you to a food adventure, you will never forget.
Dimsum
Xiao Long Bao is best eaten hot so we consumed it immediately. As soon as I nibbled on the side of its soft shell, meaty, juicy flavorful soup burst into my mouth. It was delicious!
Soups
Lugang Cafe's Hot and Sour Soup is rich in black vinegar making the soup sour and lacking the hot taste. Seeing that it is rich in ingredients, it was okay.
The Golden Fried Rice with Shredded Pork tasted like any ordinary Chinese fried rice. Although there was shredded pork, it hardly made any difference in the dish.
The Roasted Duck (1/2) had crispy and taste duck skin. The meat was soft and succulent. Although, the dish is naturally oily, the suace was perfect to bring balance.
As another house specialty, I had high expectations for this dish. However, it was just similar to a Chinese Shrimp or Prawn salad but this had a weird taste too it. I didn't enjoy this dish.
The Iced Milk Tea with Coffee Jelly was a perfect balance of my two favorite drinks: coffee and tea. Their milk tea was delicious because it was fragrant.
