Colobaba Cafe Philippines (卡乐巴巴）is now here in the Philippine to bring some color and vitamin boost in our lives.

To be honest, we haven't dined-in for quite some time! But, upon discovering that Colobaba Cafe is now open near our workplace in Quezon City, we just couldn't resist making a quick stop to check it out.
So yes, Colobaba Cafe counts as our very first dine in for the year 2021. Colobaba Cafe originated from Taiwan and now has branches in Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand, China and here in the Philippines.
It is well-known for its colorful fruit juice blends and IG-worthy interiors. We have to admit, we've busy with work and have lessened our blog entries but our love for food photography is still burning with passion as shown in our Instagram. Follow us there if you haven't already.
This is one cafe that opened amidst the COVID pandemic so naturally, its quite equipped with COVID safety apparatus.
There's more space here too. As we've noticed, every area is equipped with electrical sockets so its convenient for those who intend to use it as a work station.
To maximize social distancing, this is the place we've decided to crash in. Got to combine caution with comfort. So we enjoyed our chiq and cozy corner right here.
Drinks
We went here on an after-work afternoon so we had drinks and cool treats. But, Colobaba also serves meals.
Fruit Tea (巴巴水果茶)

A must-try is the Superfruit Tea 超级水果四季春茶! This fruit tea is a combination of 5 kinds of fruits: pineapple, watermelon, apple, calamansi and lime. The blend is so refreshing and balanced that you can distinctively taste each fruit component in every sip. Amazing!
Cheesy Foam (芝士巴巴)
The ♥ Cheesy Strawberry 奶盖草莓 (128 php) is hands down the best fresh strawberry drink we've had to date! We want to drink this again!!!
Yogurt Baba (酸奶巴巴)

The iconic drink of Colobaba around the world is definitely its Yogurt Baba (酸奶巴巴) series. As you can see, it comes in three (3) layers: (1) Mango 芒果 (2) Yogurt 酸奶 then (3) Dragonfruit 火龙果. This my friends is the reason why we dropped by personally! You see the blend will mix together in a matter of minutes. So if you want to take this awesome and colorful bottle shot, you have to order this and capture it at once!

If you wait a while, the layers will naturally blend together and look like this. If you have it delivered, this is what you'll see. As you can see, the dragonfruit is the most dominant color. As expected, it is also the flavor that stands out the most upon drinking.

But upon taking a bite, we have to admit it wasn't as fluffy and jiggly as we expected. It was a bit dense and deflated. The taste though was really good. It was rich yet not too sweet. Still contemplating on whether we should give this another try... What do you think?

Jack's Joint Burger Shawarma Pizza: New Middle Eastern Fusion Hang Out (Jose Abad Santos Tondo Manila)

I'm always on the look out for share-worthy food finds. And, its usually the budget-friendly places where I can experience satisfying cheap eats that I appreciate the most. One of latest discovery that fits that criteria is Jack's Joint.
Jack's
Joint is located along Jose Abad Santos in front of Philippine Cultural
Highschool. Thus, it is just walking distance from 168 and 999 mall.
Seeing the black and white motif and the font mislead me into thinking
that it is an English pub. But, it turned out to be a middle eastern joint where you can smell and watch as the meats are being grilled.
Like in sports bar, there is a TV turned on. And, there's free WiFi too. Being located near schools, residents and commercial areas, the diners are a mix bunch.
Food
Burgers
The Burger Half Pounder + Cheese is a steal deal for its price. The burger patty looks whole but upon biting into it, we noticed that it is actually 3-layers binded into one. Taste-wise it was pretty good.
Even the buns are soft and tasty that my friends enjoyed it.
Rice Meals
The Chicken Steak is tender but a bit dry. It was spiced just right.
This is my first time to encounter a pirzola dish so I have no clue on what it should taste like. The Chicken Pirzola is a fragrant dish with a sweet and savory marinate like that of a barbecue.
Kebab
The Special Kebab is well-spiced, tender and succulent. I loved this!
Shawarma
The Shawarma has a sweet blend with a light spiciness. Since it is thinly sliced, it is very easy to chew.
Pizza
The Shawarma Pizza is one of their most interesting offerings. On it own, I didn't find it appealing. But, their yogurt sauce and hot sauce does wonders for this dish.
The 4 Cheese Pizza is good enough considering the very affordable price.
Shakes
The Yogurt is sweet and tangy. This is a great palate refresher.

As there are hardly any Middle Eastern places in the area, I'm sure many will be happy to pay a visit at Jack's Joint Burger Shawarma Pizza. The price is so reasonable that even students can come here frequently.

I've been to Baguio on almost every summer of my life but could you believe that I've never stepped upon The Manor Hotel. If wasn't for Baguio Food Tour 2014 (#BFT2014), I wouldn't have discovered the elegance of The Manor Hotel and the gastronomic wonders of Le Chef's breakfast buffet.
It was a chilly morning when we arrived at The Manor Hotel.
I couldn't help but fall in love with the beauty of the place.
It's very in line with nature and it is kid-friendly too.
Le Chef is connected with Le Chef Delicatessen so you can expect a wide range of freshly baked pastries among the buffet selections.
They have the basic pastries like bread rolls, tasty bread, whole-wheat bread (for health-conscious ones like me) and croissants.
Who could resist this luscious fruit-topped Danish Puffs?
Cereals
has always been a popular choice with kids. Well, two of my three
(third being rice crispies) are available: corn flakes and coco puffs.
For something healthy, the Mediterranean Vegetable is a great choice.
My friend enjoyed mixing the Tuna Flakes with their Garlic Rice.
The Spicy Seafood Salad has tomatoes, bell peppers and cuttle fish. It reminded me of kimchi but this is an extravagant rendition.
The Assorted Cold Cuts is composed of salami, proscuitto ham and salami.
You can see from the way Kuya tosses the omellete that you're in good hands.
I just couldn't resist the fragrant smell of the Egg Omelette kuya was making so I requested an extra mushroom-filled one for me. I also had their delicious Raisin Bread with Mango and Orange Marmalade Jam and Banana Loaf.
Longganisa is quite popular in the North.
The Embutido is good!
If only I wasn't stuffed already I would have indulged myself with their yogurt offerings. But since I was, I only got to try the Plain Yogurt which was really good
You can add the Apple Compote or Peach on your yogurt.
My friends loved the Creamy Fruit Salad.
They have a wide variety of Mixed Fresh Fruits: Papaya, Longgan, Banana, Pineapple, Watermelon and Honeydew.
Aside from brewed coffee or hot tea, they also have Pineapple Juice, Orange Juices and Four Seasons Juice for beverage options.

I highly recommend Le Chef's breakfast buffet spread. The price you pay is well-equated with the food quality and service that it offers.
I couldn't help but fall in love with the beauty of the place.
Le Chef adopts a strict dress code. It requires a smart casual attire. And, sleeveless shirts, tank tops and slipper sandals are not allowed so be sure to take note of that.
