Tam-awan Cafe in Tam-awan Village: Trying out etag and more

After our exciting trek around Tam-awan Village, our hosts Ivan Aoki and the Eurotel Team invited us to have some snacks at Tam-awan Cafe.

Food
Creamy Tuna Carbonara
Most of our companions ordered the coffee with pasta.  According to our friend Chinchan of Juanderfulpinoy.com, the Creamy Tuna Carbonara was so rich and tasty.  He really enjoyed it.

Pinikpikan Meal (250 php)
We, Tsinoy Foodies, were quite undecided on which to order so we asked the waiter for his suggestion.  He told us that if we want to taste the authentic dish specialty of the Cordilleras then we should order the Pinikpikan.  He quickly added that the Pinikpikan is already good for two and comes with rice and our preferred drink.  It sounded pretty convincing so we took the bait and ordered the Pinikpikan.

♥ Pinikpikan (250 php)
It was our first time to try the Pinikpikan so we were both excited to try it.  The Pinikpikan has a soup base that tasted like Tinola with chicken and etag (Igorot smoked/salted meat).  The chicken has a tasty blood covered skin.  The skin looks swollen that normal.  There are parts of the chicken meat which are darker in color and sometimes tougher too.  Although we feel sorry for the chicken, we have to admit that the chicken skin was quite delicious.
Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
Tam-awan Cafe serves great drinks and delicious food.  It's a great place to appreciate the art and culture of the Ifugaos and at the same time enjoy the food.  The ambiance is simple, native and clean.  It's certainly worth the visit.
