Bonifacio Global City is one of the most progressive places in the Metro. Malls continue to be bigger and better. Market! Market! has recently opened its new C5 Wing where Mr. Korea BBQ established its pioneer branch.
Mr. Korea BBQ is a sister company of Jin Joo Korean Grill. While we enjoyed the Chesse Deung Galbi (치즈등갈비) of Jin Joo, we have yet to try the unlimited k-bbq with 10 flavors there. So, imagine how thrilled we were to discover that Mr. Korea BBQ offers 14 flavors!
The interiors of Mr. Korea BBQ is modern, hip, colorful and creative. It has the industrial feel with grilled pipes, steel wallings and neon lights. It gives a comfortable feel that let's you dine as long as you want.
Drinks
Mr. Korea BBQ is the first unlimited korean barbecue concept we have encountered to offer an unlmited self-service juice bar.
Food
Each table is provided a set of side dishes or banchan (반찬), three dipping sauces or ssamjang (쌈장), cheese sauce dip and lettuce wrap or ssam (쌈). Yes, like its sister company Jin Joo, it also has the awesomecheese sauce and its refillable to your heart's content.
Banchan (반찬)
banchan (반찬) |
Since we dined for the first time, we assumed the banchan may vary as it is the usual practice in korean restaurants. Nevertheless, we give a full thumbs up for the banchan we tried (in clockwise order):
- Cabbage Kimchi (양배추 김치)
- Gamjachae Bokkeum (감자채 볶음)
- Yangpa Jangajji (Soy Pickled onions) (양파 장아찌)
- Sigeumchi Namul (Seasoned Spinach) (시금치 나물 반찬)
- Gamja Salad (Mashed Potato Salad): (감자샐러드)
On the grill were additional complimentary dishes: Beef Bulgogi and Tteokbokki (Sticky Rice Cake) (떡볶이). The Beef Bulgogi is exactly the same as one of the flavors so we recommend that you just have this replenished from time to time. Small serving is better. Its best to remove the Tteokbokki from the grill so as not too overcook it.
Three Dipping Sauces or ssamjang (쌈장)
- This is the main sauce for grilled unmarinated meats such as the Samgyupsal (삼겹살구이) and Woogyupsal.
- This sauce goes well with the marinated grilled meats.
- This sauce brings out the flavor of grilled meatseaten on its own (without being wrapped by lettuce)
Under Mr. Korea's Rules, you can only order 2 kinds of meat for 4 full paying adults and 3 kinds of mats for 6-full paying adults at a time. We suggest that you order a variety of comabinations (i.e. rolls, unmarinated and marinated pork and beef).
Pork

Korean Chili Pepper Woosamgyup |
The Korean Chili Pepper Woosamgyup is suitable for those enjoy powdery and pepperish dishes.
Korean Hotpot Set
Unli Hot Pot Set (Add 50 php) |
We don't recommend the Unli Hot Pot Set since the broth even with all the ingredients lack flavor. If you opt to avail of this option, you can try to add some cheese sauce into it for a more wholesome umami flavor.
Unlimited BBQ plus Unli Hot Pot Set (Add 50 php) |
Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
Mr. Korea BBQ offers an enjoyable unlimited Korean BBQ experience for a reasonable price. With 14 flavors of meat and unlimited cheese dip, we guarantee that you will have a very fulfilling Korean BBQ meal.

Gourmet Food Fair by Mercato Centrale: Rosalie's Pinipig w/ Buko, Suman, Bibingka and More! (Market! Market! Taguig)
Taguig, Metro Manila, Philippines
I can still recall when I first heard of Mercato Centrale and how I was so eager to visit and check it out. Back then it was the first and one of it's kind in the Metro. Now, Mercato Centrale is operating many food markets and it hasn't lost its touch. When I visited the newly opened Gourmet Food Fair by Mercato Centrale in Market! Market!, it was swarming with hungry customers eager to indulge in the affordable meals offered by the vendors.
Chef Bab's Sizzling Sisig and More takes sisig to another level with their customized sisig. The first step is to choose you sisig: Tofu Sisig, Veggie Meat Sisig, Chicken Sisig, Beef Sisig, Bangus Sisig, Squid Sisig, Pork (Dinakdakan) Sisig or Crispy Pork Sisig.
Then, pick you ingredients and seasoning then serving size.
For those yearning for Bagnet...
Giga Bite Kebab offers Kebabs and other street foods.
More choices here...
Now you can have lechon on a casual night with Timplador De Cebu Boneless Lechon.
Takoyaki... my favorite Japanese snack is here too.
Choosing is the most difficult part because there are so many to choose from.
Filipino meals at a very affordable price.
If I'd have a meal there this would be my best bet. But, I just had my dinner when I passed by.
Lots of lines for these stick street food.
Empanada prepared Ilocano-style by Empanada de Norte.
There's Baby Back Ribs here at Edgys Foodtrip.
Shawarma!
My friends loved the Cajun Pork Chops from Ace's Cuisine.
Choose any pasta you want all at the same price.
Crowd seem to be gathering this stall. I peeked through and saw it was the sisig they were crazy about.
Tried the The Sultry Chef before and I recommend it!
Another stall with a blockbuster line is this one for its Crispy Shrimp.
Street food selections are not complete without Kwek Kwek.
Desserts
For desserts, a popular chose is the Gateau de Crepe.
Got a free taste of the Pastillas Flan but found it a bit too sweet for me. Texture was perfect though. They also have the Yema Cake which seems to be fast-moving based on my observation.
Been seeing Piper's Pan in other food markets but it's the first time I tried it. I tried the Red Velvet which my friends bought on a 3 for 100 package. It was pleasantly sweet with buttery icing.
Pasalubong
Rosalie's Pinipig w/ Buko, Suman, Bibingka is our family favorite.
I bought all these stuff to take home for the family. Since we always but only the Pinipig w/ Buko, I thought we should try something else this time.
The Puto Pao (a pack of 10) for me was pretty good as it is soft and moist. It also has flavorful salted egg toppings. But, the family still preferred Dapar's Puto Pao over it.
The Assorted Kakanin and Sapin-Sapin failed to reach our expectation as they were all lacking in flavor. The suman was good especially when eaten with the latik sauce. The Thin Suman was tastier than the Fat Suman which is probably why it cost more too.
Well, I think though we'll only buy the Pinipig w/ Buko from them next time as it is still the best for us.
Good thing we can now easily buy Pinipig w/ Buko at the Gourmet Food Fair by Mercato Centrale cause it's so good!
You can also purchase them at their store in 219 Sta. Rosa II, Marilao, Bulacan.
Gourmet Food Fair by Mercato Centrale has lots of optiosn to offer at affordable price. I'm sure fellow passersby and employees in the area are thrilled to have it. Check it out every Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8 pm to 3 am by the Market! Market! Central (fountain area).

Royal Carribean Jamaican Patties: Finest Jamaican Patties (Market Market)
Taguig, Metro Manila, Philippines
Well, believe it or not, its actually my first time to try Jamaican patties. A few weeks ago, my friend Zep and I had breakfast at RC Jamaican Patties at the fifth floor of Market Market.
As an employee within the Bonifacio Global City area, Zep always has his breakfast at Market Market and we chose this because he hasn't tried it yet.
The good thing about Jamaican patties is that you can have them for breakfast, lunch, snack for dine in or on-the-go or dinner. In fact, RC Jamaican Patties is conveniently located near the cinema area which makes it an ideal movie snack or meal.
They have a lot of varieties on their menu.
And, they have a convenient take out package.
According to their staff, they bake several times a day to ensure freshness.
Since we're both spicy food fans, we were thrilled with their options! Well for my friend Zep, the hottest of the hottest wasn't enough for him but that's not a problem since they also offer a special cayenne sauce.
Food
Classic
The Jamaican patties were served really hot. As you can see, it has a nice golden brown thin crust that's crisp in every bite. I had the Beef Granada because I wanted to gauge the spiciness first. I loved it! It had the right amount of kick.
Zep commented that he tried other Jamaican patties before but they were too flat and had so little filling. He was quite please with Beef Curry. He was glad that they don't scrimp on their ingredients even the red chillies.
Premium
I also tried the Cheeze Burst Jerky which in addition has oozing melted cheese. I really like the cheese they use. It was rich and creamy cheddar and not the diluted like nacho cheese dips.
New Premium
We also shared the Tuna Royale which had creamy tuna fillings. Both of us approved of this.
For our last serving, we had the Baked Mac. It was so cheesy!
Drinks
Premium Beverages
We both loved the Ceylon Tea which had a distinct richness and aroma.
If you're not into tea the Four Seasons is also a good choice. What's cool about their premium beverages is that their slushees so its fun to drink but don't drink too fast as it can cause brain freeze. It's an excellent frozen drink that's refreshing to drink for a whole movie long.
Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
For such an affordable price, we were quite surprised that we were both so full and bloated by the end of our breakfast. When craving for the finest jamaican patties, I'd definitely go for Royal Carribean Jamaican Patties.
