I've always loved Singaporean cuisine but it's rarely available even in Manila. It's a good thing that Rasa Pura has opened in Baguio City so that residents of the North Luzon Province can now experience authentic Singaporean dining.
Rasa Pura's kitchen is headed by a Singaporean master chef and makes use of imported spices from Singapore so you can be assured that of the authenticity in their dishes.
They offer a superb fine dining ambiance which is elegant and spacious.
They have the typical round tables with lazy Susan for lauriat style dining and also square tables for smaller groups. The Baguio Food Tour 2014 (#BFT2014) dined lauriat style so we chose the big round table. This was actually our last stop on our trip and it was the one that my companions loved the most.
Food
Cold Dish Platter
For starters, we had the Singapore Assorted Platter. This is similar to the typical Chinese Cold Cuts Platter. It has Century Egg, Kikiam, Singapore Prawns Salad, Asado and Egg Foo Yong.
Soup
The Seafood Tofu Soup is something new for me. It's a clear soup that's very flavorful due to its abundant ingredients.
It has beef strips, tofu and all sorts of seafood.
Vegetable
The Kangkong in Spicy Singapore Shrimp Paste is crunchy kangkong in sambal belacan which is a combination of chili paste and shrimp paste.
Fish
One of my favorite local fishes is Pampano. But, I've never thought of it as an alternative for expensive fish variants. This Steamed Pampano in Tausi Sauce is delicious because of the nice clean taste of the Pampano complemented by the tausi sauce and loads of fried garlic.
Shrimp
The Cereal Prawns is so good that we didn't spare any bit of this! It was perfectly crunchy that you wouldn't want to spare even a tiny part of its shell.
I have always been a lazy crab eater. I usually skip or ignore shelled crab dishes. But, this Singapore Chili Crab is definitely one of the best I've ever tried! I just couldn't stop myself from indulging this huge platter till its empty.
I've always loved Mantao (fried buns). I ate this with the sauce of the Singapore Chili Crab. Yummy!
Meat
No doubt, the Singapore Famous Satay (Pork BBQ) was well-loved by all of us. Everyone was praising how tender and tasty it was. This is also one of the best satay I've had.
Chicken
The Authentic Singapore Hainanese Chicken is one of the most popular Singaporean dishes. This version is pretty good.
Rice & Noodles
The Simgapore Fried Hockkien Mee is mixture of yellow noodles and thick rice vermicelli with egg, prawns, squid, pork and chives.
Beverage
I've tried Singapore Pull Tea before but never tried one with ginger. The Singapore Ginger Milk Tea is really good!
Other Reviews in Baguio City
Rasa Pura is a must stop for authentic Singaporean dishes in Bagiuo City. The price is a bit steep but that's because you're guaranteed the best authentic Singaporean fine dining experience with the finest quality and cooked by a Singaporean master chef. I suggest you dine in groups as serving sizes are intended for that.

I'm sure not everyone has the luxury of time and money to board a plane just to treat themselves to some hawker foods. So, where do you go when craving for them? Well, you can go to an expensive Asian restaurants or visit 101 Hawker Food House located just around the corners Urban Avenue in Makati.
101 Hawker Food House has a casual Asian feel similar to the hawker food centers it seeks to portray. They offer a wide array of Asian dishes which includes Singaporean, Thai, Malaysian and Chinese. According to the owner Mr. Rex Chua, their main market are the Makati employees. Thus, their food is slightly adjusted to fit their taste preference. For example, the dishes are only mildy spicy by default. However, if you prefer them spicy, you can advise the waiter. With their pricing and food options, I was not surprised to witness how busy and packed the place was on a workday Tuesday night.

Hainanese Chicken Short Order (160 php)
The Hainanese Chicken is tender and the flavor is just right. It is served with three sauce options: ginger sauce, chili sauce and soy sauce. I liked the chili sauce which is also ginger-based. The price is such a bargain that you can enjoy eating Hainanese Chicken as often as you want.

The Roast Chicken tender and tasty. It's best eaten with the sauce so the flavor and texture will be enhanced.

Roti Prata with Curry (2 pcs.) (100 php)
I'm so glad that 101 Hawker Food House did not miss having the Roti Prata with Curry. It was served hot just the way it should be. It goes well with their curry sauce too. But, I found it to be a bit oilier the others I've tried before. It didn't stop me from munching on these though. Oh, and if you're not a fan of curry, you can order an extra Condense Milk Dip (25 php).
Noodle Soups

Singapore Laksa (110 php)
The Singapore Laksa is tasted dominantly of seafood with coconut milk and curry. The spiciness was minimized by sweetness of the seafood. The Singapore Laksa contained fish balls, fish cakes and crunchy bean sprouts.
Stir Fried Noodles
Despite the strong and tasty flavor of the Char Kway Teow, I believe they can still do better by improving the texture of the noodles.
Fried Rice
Okay, here I go again with the Thai Bagoong Rice. Too bad I'm not dining with my mom as this is her favorite. 101 Hawker Food House serves the Thai Bagoong Rice already mixed and ready to eat topped with thinly sliced green mangoes. The salty and tangy taste successfully allured my taste buds.

Fried Rice
Although the Nasi Goreng looked the least appealing among all the dishes we have tried, it gave a good impact in terms of taste. It was mildy spicy with bits of soft shrimps. The Nasi Goreng was also served in a large proportion. It was like a mountain of rice in a large platter.

Drinks
One thing I always look forward to when eating at Singaporean restaurants is their beverages. I ordered the Iced Teh Tarik. It was served with the usual bubbly froth on top. It was more milky than tea.
My companions ordered the Iced Kopi Tarik and the Milo Dinosaur. Perhaps, I shall try those on my next visit. =)
