It was a laid back afternoon. I felt like going for a place that's good for chit chat. And, I thought of no better place than Le Petit Souffle. I've been here before for The Worskshop Bespoke Bakery event so I know that the interior is exceptionally beautiful.
But I have to admit when I first encountered their food at Mandala Park, I was not impressed.
I don't know if it was because it wasn't prepared fresh from the kitchen or because it lacked the beautiful interiors.
But I'm quite sure that it was the interiors that lured me to try another time.
This is my favorite spot. It makes you feel like you are inside you're very own greenhouse on cool and refreshing mid-summer day.

Bollywood Treats: Affordable Authentic Indian Cuisine For Vegan and Non-Vegans (Century Mall Makati)
There are only a few places in Metro Manila especially in Makati City that serves Indian food and Vegan food alike so I was quite excited to discover Bollywood Treats at the lower ground floor of Century Mall.
Unlike other stalls, it offers a very homey and simple vibe.
I think that's nice because when I'm taking a break from work, the best ambiance I'd wish for is one that is close to home.
Food
Not only does Bollywood Treats offer Vegan selections, they offer them at a very low price! Their Samosa is only 35 php per piece when you order by twos.
I didn't know that Indian Cuisine has its version of shawarma. The Chicken Roti Roll is best eaten when hot and fresh.
If you want to try most items on their menu, go for their Sample Platter. There are two versions of this: Vegan and Non-Vegan. I chose the Non-Vegan which comes with Chicken Curry, BBQ Chicken, Beef Kebab or Beef Curry, Keema and Rice.
Vegan/Vegeterian Menu
Looking for an affordable healthy side dish? The Baingan is a great choice.
My friends enjoyed their Vegetarian Sample Platter with Chole, Dal and Rice.
Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
With Bollywood Treats, you can now enjoy an authentic Indian, healthy, hearty and even Vegan-friendly meals. The price is way cheaper than most meals served in the food courts along Makati.

When I encountered Mio Gelati in Century Mall Makati, I knew the brand was familiar. I thought I first encounter it at food markets with its ice cream truck. But apparently, my blog entry is more accurate than my memory.
To my surprise, the first time I've encountered Mio Gelati was already 5 years ago when they had a stand alone store in Greenhills and even sold mochi filled with gelato.
I remember loving those mochi but I didn't recall it having a delightfully smooth gelato consistency. I'm so glad I got to try it once again. You can actually sample the flavors prior to ordering. The white signs indicate meant that the flavors are premium while the transparent signs meant that the flavors are regular.
Of course, choosing the flavors depends on your preference. But, what I can vouch for is that each one is rich in flavor and they all had creamy and smooth consistency.
My top 3 flavors are:
1. Pistachio
2. Kitkat Green Tea
3. Avocado Milk
(Ironically, all of them are color green. =D)
The current best-sellers are:
1. Mango Cream Pie
2. Blueberry Cheesecake
3. Willy Wonka
I say current because they change flavors every 3 months.
Their pricing is very reasonable. If you choose the big cup, you can have two flavors in one cup.
You can find Mio Gelati daily at their store at Century Mall. They also have pop up stalls at Shangrila Mall, SM North, Trinoma, Glorietta (Plains & Prints) and Mio Gelati Truck at Eastwood. The pop up stalls are not permanent so check out their fan page for regular updates.
Tsinoy Foodies Giveaway
Because I want you and your friends to experience how delightfully smooth a Mio Gelati gelato is, I am giving away 2 sets of 500 php Mio Gelati GCs to be claimed at the Mio Gelati Store in Century Mall to 2 winners (1 set of 500 php Mio Gelati GC each). Check out the mechanics at Tsinoy Foodies Fan Page here.

I've heard nothing but good raves from publications, blogs and online review sites about ArroZeria. Thus, it's long been on my wishlist. Such wish was granted when my cousin invited us over for her birthday party and despedida party in one.
We were a big group of 20+ so we appreciated the long table arrangement they prepared for us.
The interior is interesting. There were inverted red ladders attached with bulbs hanged from the ceiling.
The kitchen is very open so you can watch the crew along with Chef Luis Gonzales and Spanish chef Paco Bermudez from Valencia preparing the meals.
Food
Verdes
The Manchega is a salad with lettuce, manchego cheese, apple and dried fruits (raisin and craisins). All of us enjoyed this.
Tapas
The Tabla De Embutidos is a Spanish cold cuts board of salchichon de jabugo, chorizo iberico, payes and lomo. Each none has a distinct savory flavor that brought joy to our tastebuds.
I'm very fond of croquettes so I was excited with the Croquetas Trio: fish and seafood, porcini mushroom and stewed bechamel . Although I loved the creamy texture of the filling, everything was too salty for us.
The Gambas Con Gabardina Negra is mostly recommended by others so ordered one. As expected, the squid ink is hardly distinguishable. The crunchiness is what makes this pleasurable to munch on. The mojo picon dip was much appreciated since it's spiciness and zestiness combats the oiliness well.
Carnes Y Pescados
The Chuleton Angus Ribeye is served with potatoes, mushroom, mustard, bleu cheese and spinach cream sauce. The meat was good! But, I can't say the price is justified. The spinach cream sauce was too salty.
The Pollo A La Cazadora is crispy chicken in white wine with serrano ham, mushroom sauce and potatoes. This is delicious but we would've enjoyed this more if it was not dry.
We ordered 3 Bacalao Confitado. One of our orders was too salty.
Arroces
Although the price of their paella was individual, you have to order for at least 2 persons so the pricing can be misleading. The Abanda is a seafood paella. It was just okay.
We love the Negra more.
Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
My high expectations of ArroZeria was not met. For more than 1,000 php per person, I'd say we spent a lot for a so-so Spanish dinner. At the very least, we expected consistent quality on our orders but that was not what we got. The service was slow too.
