We stumbled upon Smoque Bistro + Cafe & Bar during our visit in Bohol.
From the facade, you already can surmise how spacious it is inside.
The interiors and ambiance are upscale too.

It is 2019 and the Philippine food industry is still as progressive as ever as many global brands are opening its branches in the Philippines. But, did you know that The Bistro Group was one of the first restaurant groups that boldly brought a foreign food concept here in the Philippines? In December 11, 1994, it opened TGI Fridays as the first American Casual Dining restaurant in the Philippines.
We usually dine at TGI Fridays for dinner or post-dinner. But, last December 11, 2019, we decided to try them for lunch for a change.
Complimentary Nachos |
During lunch time at its Trinoma branch, it offered a laid back kind of vibe.
French Onion Soup (245 php) |
The French Onion Soup at TGI Fridays is one of our favorites. It's just so hearty and fulfilling.
Calypso Calamari Salad (425 php) |
What we love about TGI Fridays is its comprehensive menu selections. We decided to go for a guilt-free lunch with its Calypso Calamari Salad that comes with its tangy citrus lime dressing.

Eton Centris is one of the food hubs within my work perimeter. Of course, I am so delighted to discover that Fiery Style has recently opened its 11th branch at Eton Centris Walk.
It is located just beside Family Mart.
I've tried almost all the food establishments in the vicinity and Ihave to say that this offers the cosiest vibe yet. During weekends, it even has a live band.
Food
Being a Tex-Mex food lover, I really believe that we can never have enough Mexican food joints.
Starters
Since I'm a first timer with Fiery Style, I was really impressed with its food presentation. The Fiery Nachos was not only delectable, I also enjoyed the show with the flip of the tin.
Just look at the Fiery Nachos with the complete works! Go ahead indulge!
Salads
The Flaming Taco Good Salad also looked interesting. But, in terms of flavors and ingredients, I think there are better options in the menu.
8 Fiery Sizzling Combinationes
My companions and I decided to go for the bang-for-the-buck combinationes. I really appreciate that each one has a unique side dish to complement the main dish. I found the sliced tomatoes and garlic drenched in mango puree of this one to be appetizing. You can also select the type of rice: (1) Beef Rice - a bit spicy which I liked (2) Chorizo Rice (3) Plain Rice.
I highly recommend the Barbecued Beef Ribs with cajun fries and grilled corn. I love the challenge of getting the tender beef meat of the bones and chewing on the slightly gummy yet soft tendon.
The best one I've tried is the Grilled BBQ Pork Ribs. The portion offers the satisying tender yet chunkiness of the pork meat. It also has the right amount of fats to deliver the flavorsome pork juice.
Instead of going for the steak, you can go for the fragrant Sizzling Tender Beef Salpicao. The Baked Bone Marrow is an umami booster that will heighten the experience even more.
Sharers
This is my first time to encounter a Tex-Mex that offers chicken wings. What a good innovation. You can order the Lord of the Wings for sharing so you can sample 3 different variants: (1) Hot Hot Hot Sauce & Jalapenos, (2) Nacho Cheese & Bacon and (3) Texan-style BBQ.
If you're coming in as a group, you can opt for the Galleon of Bones. It doesn't offer much rice as it is only a side dish option along with the Soutwest Chips but you have (1) BBQ Pork Ribs, (2) Chicken Wings (3) Meaty Pork Hammers (4) Beef Ribs.
Fiery Paloma
This is also my first time to try a paloma with the Green Mandarin Paloma. I think I found my favorite spiced drink!
Southwest Margarita
Overall, it was a fun night indeed at Fiery Style Eton Centris.

I first encountered The Romulo Food Group when I was invited to try Tito Chef Express three years ago. It was such a satisfying experience so when I was invited to the grand opening of Lazat Fil-Asian Restaurant & Bar, I had high expectations.
I am familiar that this place used to be Cerchio. And, now it's rebranded to be Lazat which in Malay means “delicious”.
I love the interiors of the place. The theme seems to be with related with sqaures and nature.
The party took place on the second floor with a food buffet and unlimited bar cocktails.
They also have an Al Fresco area which is my ideal chill place.

I could also settle for this area for more privacy.
Food
Soup
Through their Bulalo Ramen, guests are already hinted with their Filipino and Asian fusion concept.
Appetizers
The menu is expansive. All the items were interesting.
Old favorites are included.
I really loved the Fried Chicken Bao.
Main Entree
Couldn't stop munching on the Salted Egg Fried Chicken. I lost count of how many of these I ate.
Noodles
We had a riceless meal because they offered 3 kinds of noodles! The Char Kway Teow is the most flavorful.
Perhaps, I am biased to my favorite but I enjoyed the Pad Thai more.
The Bam-I is also good!
Desserts
Overall, it was a great night of food and drinks. No doubt this is another great concept by The Romulo Cafe Group. Congratulations Lazat! I will surely come back to try more of your offerings.
