Ever since the cronut craze arrived, it made me curious of what it is. I've tried only two other brands and they failed to make me understand what the fuzz is all about so I had the urge to try more. So one beautiful afternoon, I was in a good mood of passing by Cafe Jeepney Bakery at Manila Intercontinental Hotel to buy some for "merienda" (afternoon snack).
Upon arrival, we spotted trays of cronuts displayed on top of their chiller. At the back, there were baskets full of cronuts as well. The first thing I noticed is that it is bigger than other cronuts I've tried before. Since I was not allowed to take a photo of the buffet spread the last time I was here, I politely asked if I could take a photo of their display and good thing I was allowed this time so I could share it with you.
I ordered 5 cronuts and they handed this beautiful box upon payments.
Upon opening, I found out that they were placed in individual paper bags which was a nice way of preserving their form.
Every cronut had the same golden brown color and a sugar frosting on top. I liked the idea of the sugar frosting on the outside so non-sweet lovers can just remove it if they find it too sweet for their taste.
The Red Velvet Cronut is the most pride cronut. Judging on its appearance, it really stands out from the rest because of its enticing red crumbs wrapping the side of it. Honestly, I'm not a fan of red velvet but I appreciated this one.
The Dark Chocolate Cronut is a pretty good because it was bitter sweet. The White Chocolate Cronut is similar to the Dark Chocolate Cronut but with white chocolate bits on it.
The Sugar Cinnamon Cronut is a bit dull since its plain cronut with sugar cinammon on it.
Our favorite is the Cheescake Cronut. It had a nuts on the outside and a cream cheese on the inside.
We really loved the crisp and flakiness of their cronuts! It was not too oily and composed too.
Tip (Updated on Dec 7, 2013): You can buy this at a discounted price of 60 php each if you buy after 9 pm.
Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
If you want to appreciate quality cronuts, try The Cafe Jeepney Bakery Cronuts! Although expensive, the size and quality makes up for it.

We've been receiving a mixed remarks among friends and relatives about Cafe Jeepney at Manila Intercontinental Hotel. But, we did not let that persuade us into trying out more hotel buffets. We wanted to experience it first hand and share it with you too.
Food
I initially intended to take a photo of the place and their offerings but as I got my camera out, I was asked for a permit from their PR department. Of course, I did not have one and didn't bother to get one since I came for my own enjoyment. But, the server told me I'm allowed to take a picture of what I ate so I got everything that's available save the seafood grilling station just for me to be able to take a photo of them to share.

The Onion Soup is chunky just the way I like it. You can add some cheese in it too if you want. I just opted to taste its natural flavor. The Hard Roll is nothing extraordinary but I loved the Pretzel.

Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
Cafe Jeepney's international buffet may not be as extensive as other buffets but the food selections are of quality. It is a complete course in itself and quite satisfying. In fact, it's difficult to try all the dishes because it could get overwhelming. I also like that their system allows diners some customization. The service is trully commendable as well. The servers are very attentive in addressing to our every need even to such detail as folding our napkins whenever we stood up for a refill. They were very courteous and happy to serve too which added joy to our dining experience.
