It is located in Banawe, one of the food haven in the North which has always beckoned my foodie enthusiasm. But, the distance has been keeping me away from it.
Perhaps it was a fortunate twist of fate that my friend works in the area so he was able to bring me to Chef Robert. As a regular, he shared that Chef Robert is famous for its Happy Hour from 2 to 5 pm where meal are offered at reduced price.
I instantly found Chef Robert as cozy and warm like my very own home. The simple harmony of the yellowish hues, Christmas decors, wooden fixtures creates a wonderful and comforting atmosphere to slow down and chill. That is exactly what I needed for my holiday break.
I initially thought that they have a limited dining area. But, funny as it is, we discovered that it has a second floor from poster posted in the rest room! Aside from being an extended dining area, this also serves as meeting or function room equipped with a projector.
Food
Chef Robert (the real person) wasn't around during my visit. But seeing the place and their creative offerings, I am certain that he is a genius chef with great passion. I instantly felt that I came to the right place.
Their extensive menu made it difficult for me to decide on what to order. Good thing our server Gerald was very helpful and they had heart marks on their menu indicating their best-sellers.

Desserts
Chef Robert also serves cakes as a nice meal ender.
Chocnut Mousse (140 php) |
You can also enjoy their cakes and coffee for a beautiful afternoon chit chat like we did. For the price, I'd certainly prefer it here than a posh hotel lounge especially since Chef Robert also has free WiFi.
Those who would like to indulge in sweet and rich chocnut, can try their Chocnut Mousse.
♥ Carrot Cake (140 php) |
But my low sweet tolerance had me englamoured by their Carrot Cake. I've tried tons of carrot cakes before since it is my mom's favorite cake. But, this is my first time to try a carrot cake lavished with fresh crisp carrot shreds exploding with its natural sweet juices as you chew on the soft and moist cake.
Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
I've been blogging for quite some time now. And recently, I've found my self following the pursuit of my foodie idols in trying out new restaurants. But, trying out Chef Robert Restaurant reminded me of what got me into food blogging in the first place. I yearn to try culinary masterpieces - one where you can recognize and taste the science, art and sincere passion that a chef puts in it. I'm glad that I have found such at Chef Robert.
