For quite some time, I've been hearing good things about 2nd's. I've been to Bonifacio High Street many times but I failed to notice that 2nd's is located there at the 2nd floor of B3. Their tag line "comfort food revisited" has always made me curious of what dishes they served. Comfort food can be anything and revisited must mean they serve it with their unique twist.

Upon reaching the second floor, a big wooden door with a sign board will indicate that you have found your way to 2nd's. Of course, I didn't let its heaviness stop me. =D

When I saw the Triple Mushroom Risotto on the menu, I already got a hunch that I would like it. I'm a huge fan of mushrooms and the Triple Mushroom Risotto had three kinds of mushrooms: Enoki, Shitake and Button mushrooms with balsamic glaze and truffle oil to boot.

Other than the mantecado espresso sauce, I find the Apple Crumble similar to the rest. It was stewed sweet and tangy apple slices topped with crumbs.

2nd's is a great place for comfort food indeed. It also offers an elegant yet cozy ambiance close to a privileged club. Their pricing is a bit on the high side because they use the finest ingredients such as USDA steaks and expensive cheese. But, it is certainly worth revisiting when you're willing to spend for comfort food that will please your taste buds and melt your heart away. It was my first day of class and my professor was absent so I had some time to chill. I was roaming around the Recto area when I spotted Cobo. It looked like a happy and lively place with its modern interiors and loud music.

Upon entering, I glanced the menu by the counter and realized that I was in a milk tea place. They had a lot of options so I asked the cashier for her recommendation. She told me that Cobo Milk Tea is their best seller so I took her word for it and ordered one. She asked me if I wanted to have Chew Pearl or Chewdle or both. Curious of what the Chewdle were, I instinctively answered both. I was handed my receipt with a number in it.
I found myself a cozy seat and waited until the counter just beside it called my number. The place had a really jolly atmosphere. The music was modern and the lighting were the colorful ones that you'd find in a bar. As I glanced around, I found myself surrounded by students. It wasn't a study place for meeting. But, it was a hangout where they could chat along as they enjoy their teas and snacks.

Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
Cobo is a nice place to hangout with its happy and cozy atmosphere. I am impressed with their ingeniuty in offering 12 oz. sizes (39 php to 49 php) to make their teas more affordable to students. I noticed every table ordered the 12 oz. sizes. I will surely come back and try their other offering when I have the time. I'm looking forward to try their Premium Milk Tea and Koffee Kraze selection and their Cobo Crunch snacks too.

When I was young, Dads would be the number one option when it comes to affordable eat-all-you can buffets. Clearly, Dads pioneered the concept which paved way to the numerous buffets being offered now.
It's been a long time since my last visit so I was very eager to dine at Dads Ultimate Buffet once again.

What I Had
I decided to start my meal with Saisaki's Japanese dishes. I always believed that Salmon should be enjoyed in its purest and sweetest form so I grabbed some Salmon Sashimi. There were so many rolls to choose from but I knew it was heavy on the tummy so I settled for California with Unagi Roll and Alaska Beauty Roll. For main course, I got my fave ♥Asparagus rolled in Beef and ♥Mushroom rolled in Beef, Tofu, Ebi Gyoza and Sakana Chiisu Maki. This plate was a satisfactory one.

For my second plate, I had a Kani Tempura, Chawanmushi, Dad's Paella, Roast Beef, Dad's Lengua and Seafood Kebab. I enjoyed the ♥ Chawanmushi. The ♥Roast Beef and the ♥Lengua was cooked nice and tender but I found the fish in the Seafood Kebab too dry.

For dessert, I decided to go for an international mix. I got a Halo-halo, Bibingka, ♥Buko Pandan, ♥Espasol, Blueberry Cheesecake and Chocolate Cake. I enjoyed the Buko Pandan and the Espasol while the rest were good enough.

Dad's Ultimate Buffet offers a lot of options for an unbeatable and affordable price. Because of their wide selections, I'm sure you can find dishes that will appeal to your taste. I found some of the dishes to be good while others were just passable. The service is good and they are quick to refill their dishes.

Last week, we decided to watch a movie at SM Mall of Asia. While waiting for Tsinoy Foodie Kurt, I chanced upon a new cheap eats by the South terminal called Kroketten. It is one of the twelve branches that recently opened in various malls.

The mini-ballen are small bite-sized balls. It's easier to eat as you can enjoy it just by popping it one by one in your mouth. The Chicken Mini-Ballen has a stronger flavor compared to the cheese. But, it was still smooth and creamy in texture.

Kroketten is a delicious and affordable snack that is sure to satisfy your hunger. These little treats are quite heavy on the stomach. It is appropriate for all ages too. I would definitely want to go back and try their other flavors.

Last Saturday, I got to witness a Jamba Juice's flavorful expansion as it opens its third branch in Southeast Asia at Philippine's largest mall, SM Mall of Asia.

After the ribbon-cutting and the blessing, everyone was eager to try out their fresh blended smoothies.

I watched as orders were being prepared through the glass windows along the Jamba Juice booth. Jamba Juice makes use of the highest quality of fruits from different countries which inlcudes our local bananas.

It was so cool to watch the scoops of ice cream and ice as they were tossed into the air. The staffs were very excited and happy to serve their first batch of customers.
After enjoying my drink, my friend Yanie invited me to support Jamba Juice's Gimme' 5 for Guimaras Campaign. We rode for five minutes with ease and we were even given their campaign bag tag as a token. I would've wanted to bike more to donate more mango trees but believe me many were as eager as we were to support the cause.
I love the concept of this fruitful cause. Customers who ride their Blender Bike for five minutes will get to donate one mango seedling which will be planted in the Guimaras Mango Park. This campaign was first introduced in their flagship store in BHS-Central through their partnership with the Bureau of Plant Industry-Guimaras National Mango Research and Development Center (BPI-GNMRDC). During the last visit of James D. White, President and CEO of Jamba Juice, he embraced the campaign as a meaningful way of raising awareness of local sustainability initiatives. It is their hope that our local Guimaras Mangoes will one day play a larger role in their menu.
