Taipei Spa Pasay: Post- Massage Taiwanese Dinner (Pasay City Metro Manila)
Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines
If you got half a day for food and relaxation, we highly recommend spending it in Taipei Spa Pasay (台北 SPA庭院店).
It has a spacious dining and massage area. For special occassions, you can splurge and avail of their VIP rooms with jacuzzi. Alternatively, you can enjoy a foot massage while relaxing by the scenic fish pond.
Food
It ranges from Taiwanese street foods to a full-blown meal.
♥ Oyster Omelette |
Most of the dishes were actually quite new for us.
♥ Taiwanese Oyster Noodles |
My favorite was the Taiwanese Oyster Noodles. It is served with rice vermicelli noodles.
Taiwanese Pig Intestine Noodles |
The Taiwanese Pig Intestine Noodles were also good.
Seafood Noodles |
You could also go for egg noodles like the Seafood Noodles.
Onion and Leeks Noodles |
You definitely cannot go wrong with the noodle options.
♥ Taiwanese Halo-halo |
An interesting experience for us too was the Taiwanese Halo-halo where you will get to pick the toppings.
Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
Taipei Spa is not only great for having a luxious spa experience. It is now also a great food stop for affordable Taiwanese food that's open 24 hours!

I can't recall the last time I went to Uptown Parade BGC. I was surprised to see it so much livelier with more shops and restaurants. One of the latest addition is Bai Nian Tang Bao (百年龙袍): The Origin of Xiao Long Bao.
It is a bit low-key here but it actually has branches in Shanghai, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, New York and more.
Given it is an international franchise, prime location and grand ambiance, I was expecting the menu to be pricey...
Food
yet it turned out to be affordable. The Special Sticky Rice and Pork Siomai is priced at 130 php for 4 pieces. It reminded me of our local Chinese version of Machang except that it is wrapped in a thin and silky smooth dimsum wrapper. It was good for a try but I still prefer xiao long bao than it.
Tang Bao
The Scallop and Pork Xiao Long Bao is my favorite among their xia long bao because scallops are my favorite seafood.
If you're corny, then you can try the Golden Corn Pork Xiao Long Bao. Just kidding! =p I've always loved my mom's corn soup and this reminds me of that so I appreciated it a bit.
Of course the most memorable offering is the Special Crab Roe Giant Tang Bao that you get to drink from a paper straw. Don't you just always wish that there's more soup to your xiao long bao? Now you can have more!
Appetizer
If you would ask me what is the best tilapia dish I have ever tried? I would say it is the
Shanghai Style Fish Fillet. The addictive crisp and soothing flavor of this dish are what won me ever. Try it!
Hot Dishes
Before, I didn't really enjoy eating fats. But, because of my officemates and seeing their smiles and enthusiasm over the buttery texture whenever we have fatty dish taught me to add some value to it. I can imagine my office mates jumping for joy once they try the Shanghai Special Braised Pork.
Noodles Series
If your looking for a simple yet savory noodle dish for the sauce and not for the topping then the
Shanghai Scallion Oil Noodles.
If you prefer to munch on delicious seafood toppings, then go for the Three Seafood Treasure Fried Noodles.
Rice/Congee
I usually like beef dishes but the Beef Fried Rice failed to appeal to my taste.
Instead me and my companions enjoyed the homey flavors of the Special Sausage Fried Rice.
Dessert
Having the White Fungus for dessert is a first time for me. I liked it especially the dates. But, it didn't seem to be appealing for others.
For cool refreshment, you can try have some Iced Tea.
May I be a "tita" and recommend having the Hot Green Tea to match their hot dimsums. I would like to think that the consistency in temperature enhances the flavors better.
Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
We're so fortunate to have Bai Nian Tang Bao 百年龙袍 in Manila. Definitely, don't miss out the chance to try their giant tang bao.

Whenever my relatives celebrate birthdays, more often than not, we are bound to try a buffet place. This time they invited us to try Food Club.
Food Club is located at Blue Bay Walk. The family likes it there because there's a lot of parking space.
I don't think you'll ever need reservations at Food Club. I think they have more space than it can ever be occupied.
Food
Cooked Food
In terms of buffet choices, they have a lot! There are many cooked dishes of international cuisine. They also have dedicated stations for other food types.
Bread Station
I bet you can't try all their selection in one seating.
Salad Station
They have healthy options...
Appetizer Station
as well as not so healthy options such as Cold Cuts and Cheese.
Kiddie Station
There's also a kiddie station with kid friendly choices like Hotdog on a Stick and Marbles Potatoes.
Sushi and Sashimi Station
We were happy that they have Salmon Sashimi. But as you can see, it is not so fresh.
Miso Ramen Station
There's a Miso Ramen Station. I like that it is served in small miso bowls so it isn't very heavy.
Grilling Station
There's also a Grilling Station with marinated meats, skewers and fresh seafood.
Fried Station
Forget about the other fried items, everyone kept coming back for the Shrimp Tempura. Well, it was nothing special. But, it runs out fast and they refill it quick too.
Carving Station
For the price, I must say this item is a steal or perhaps... you get what you pay for.
Chinese Station
To our elderly Tsinoys delight, the most expansive cuisine at Food Club is Chinese Cuisine. They even offer 2-way Duck which I indulged on.
Dimsum Station
In fairness to them, they are the only buffet I've been to that offers Xiao Long Bao as one of their special dishes. But, it is the saddest one I've tried. Can you tell just by the looks?
There are more dimsum choices... all of which could use some improvement.
Pasta
Hot Pot Station
If there's one item that we would love Food Club for, it would be their Garlic Crabs! Look at the size! My aunt would be happy just eating this alone.
Dessert Station
There are lots of cakes. Nothing really stood out for me.
Because the cakes didn't suit to our liking, we decided to go for the healthier option - Fruits.
Drinks
They have lots of drink selections. I highly suggest their Fresh Fruit Shakes.
And, end your meal with their Coffee.
Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
Food Club doesn't offer selections that will leave a lasting impression. But for the price, you get Roast Beef, Crabs, Xiao Long Bao, Tempura, Coffee and Fresh Fruit Shakes, that's tough to beat.
Tip: They offer discounts if you're an alumni of DLSU and UST because they say that the owner is an alumini.
