I first encountered The Romulo Food Group when I was invited to try Tito Chef Express three years ago. It was such a satisfying experience so when I was invited to the grand opening of Lazat Fil-Asian Restaurant & Bar, I had high expectations.
I am familiar that this place used to be Cerchio. And, now it's rebranded to be Lazat which in Malay means “delicious”.
I love the interiors of the place. The theme seems to be with related with sqaures and nature.
The party took place on the second floor with a food buffet and unlimited bar cocktails.
They also have an Al Fresco area which is my ideal chill place.

I could also settle for this area for more privacy.
Food
Soup
Through their Bulalo Ramen, guests are already hinted with their Filipino and Asian fusion concept.
Appetizers
The menu is expansive. All the items were interesting.
Old favorites are included.
I really loved the Fried Chicken Bao.
Main Entree
Couldn't stop munching on the Salted Egg Fried Chicken. I lost count of how many of these I ate.
Noodles
We had a riceless meal because they offered 3 kinds of noodles! The Char Kway Teow is the most flavorful.
Perhaps, I am biased to my favorite but I enjoyed the Pad Thai more.
The Bam-I is also good!
Desserts
Overall, it was a great night of food and drinks. No doubt this is another great concept by The Romulo Cafe Group. Congratulations Lazat! I will surely come back to try more of your offerings.

Tito Chef Express in Microtel By Windham Acropolis (E. Rodriguez Quezon City)
Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines
I've long been hearing about Tito Chef in BF Paranaque but never knew that there's a Tito Chef Express located in Microtel By Windham Acropolis. Luckily, I was invited to sample their new Traveler's Menu which I instantly accepted as I was eager to meet and try the dishes of Chef Menoy Gimenez.
Tito Chef Express is situated just by the lobby so you'll see it as soon as you're in Microtel By Windham Acropolis. It's actually my first time to visit a Microtel branch and I'm quite impressed with the place.
Food
Everything on the Traveler's Menu is priced at 250 php.
Salads
The Crispy Squid and Watermelon is a long platter of fresh lettuce with fresh cool watermelon slices and fried crispy squid in delicious balsamic vinaigrette dressing.
Poultry
The Barbecued Chicken Jambalaya is not the usual sweet barbecued chicken I was expecting. It was well-spiced, smoky, tender and juicy.
Together with the jambalaya rice and coleslaw, it delivered a festive flavor to my mouth.
Seafood
The Salmon Miso Ramen is a humungous bowl with beautifully spiced-seared ramen fillet in warm Japanese miso broth with smooth hint of butter, enoki mushrooms, shredded nori, scallions and carrots and freshly made firm ramen noodles. Being a traveler (visit my travel blog here), I would definitely be pleased to have this warm, soothing and hefty bowlful after a tiring day. The generous portion, quality ingredient and perfect execution makes this my favorite in the menu.
The Fish in Pesto is pan-seared cream dory fillet served with a very light pesto cream and garnished with cherry tomatoes and sprouts. It's great that they use fresh grated basil leaves but it something felt lacking.
Meats
The Binagoongan are huge lean sauteed pork belly chunks stewed in shrimp paste and garnished with chili. It was a bit fishy for me. It would have been better if it was spiced up or sauteed in garlic. This was served with a tasty binagoongan rice that is comfortingly good!
The Smothered Pork Chop is a plateful of two large very tender pork chops literally smothered with rich onion gravy sprinkled with herbs and served with mashed potato.
Specialty Pastas
The Spanish Chorizo and Mushroom Penne is an olive oil sauteed dish
topped with huge chunks of Spanish chorizo, arugula mushroom, garlic and
pepper flakes and grated cheese. This was very flavorful but
the.flavor would have been more distributed if the chorizo is cut into
smaller pieces.
Sandwich Plates
The American Burger is a thick, juicy, beefy patty topped with caramelized onions, sliced tomatoes and pickles and melted Monterey Jack cheese sandwiches between soft tasty buns. It is served with potato allumettes and side salad.
You can tell by its looks how heavenly a big bite of this thick lean and juicy beef patty drenched with flavorful hickory barbecue sauce can deliver explosive sensation to the mouth of any hungry traveler. This is one of the best burger I've tried!
Desserts
I was so excited to try the Dulce de leche Cheesecake that I even forgot to take a photo. I swear it is one of the most glorifying cheesecake I have ever had. I don't think I've ever appreciated dulce de leche until I've had this!
Drinks
Juices
Fresh Shakes
I love the Cucumber Lime but I'd practically prefer to spend more on food that this.
Loaf Cakes
Ever since we were little, we often bought the Sara Lee All Purpose Butter Pound Cake. However, a few years ago, we were disappointed that it became too commercialized, expensive and it hardens too quickly before we could finish it. Tito Chef's Pistachio Cherry Pound Cake is way way better than that. It's so soft and moist even though it was chilled for a long time on our fridge. It had a nice hint of lemon, very light butter and it was topped with chopped pistachio nuts and candied cherries.
It's quite common to encounter cookies which are on the sweet side. But, Tito Chef's Chocolate Chunk Cookies is surprisingly and amazingly on the pleasant salty side. I'm not a fun of these type of cookies but I actually enjoy these! It also has a nice crunchy and easy-to-crumble texture.
Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
Tito Chef Express is not just a place of comfort for travelers but anyone looking for good and affordable dishes. Aside from the cooked dishes, I'm really impressed with their baked goods. I should also note that they have excellent service.
