Mad Mark's Creamery & Good Eats: Unbelievably Priced Steak, Man Sandwiches and Ice Cream in Glorietta 5
During our Kapitolyo Christmas food trip, we got to try Mad Mark's Creamery & Good Eats. But, only the ice cream.
So when I saw it open in Glorietta 5 just beside Kichitora, I knew I had to complete the experience.
Our visit was a weekday afternoon so we're lucky there wasn't a long line by the counter.
Compared to their first branch, this is more spacious. They have tables on the outside too. They get packed on weekends.
For ice cream, they have the same chalk board menu.
Compared to the one in Kapitolyo, this branch has more flavor availability.
Food
Man Sandwiches
The Mariner is a filled with fish fillet, lettuce, tomatoes and marine sauce. I rarely go for sandwiches because I don't like the dryness but this one has awesome crunch, softness and sauciness that I couldn't stop digging in.
Mad Mark's Grill Works
For the Mad Mark's Grill Works selection, there are three steps:
Step 1: choose your Grilled Entry
Step 2: choose you Grilling Sauces
Step 3: choose 2 Side Dishes
Grilled Entry: Signature Steak Regular (200g)
Grilling Sauces: Cream Mushroom Sauce
2 Side Dishes: Smashed Potato and Grilled Corn on the Cob (apparently off the cob)
I'm quite surprised with the price of their Signature Steak. We had ours cooked medium and it was cooked perfectly so. We enjoyed the oozing juiciness of our USDA Angus Striploin steak. This is now on top of my list to go to for steak cravings while on a budget. (Surpassing Bugsy's Siegel) I don't think any other mall establishment can offer a quality steak at the price they offer.
Grilled Entry: Creolle Grilled Chicken (200g)
Grilling Sauces: Roasted Nut Sauce
2 Side Dishes: Garden Grains and Bacon Potato Salad
The Creolle Grilled Chicken is a healthier option but as satisfying. The chicken meat was tender and moist.
Ice Cream
If you're a fan of apple pies like me, you'll surely fall in love with the Apple Saigon Cinnamon. This is the best flavor at Mad Mark's for me!
Being an ultimate Oreo fan, I also enjoyed the Banoreo which is banana ice cream with Oreo bits.
The Half-Baked Madagascar was not mixed nicely so it had inconsistent texture... Surely, I'd love to give it a second try though.
The Rolling Dutchman Ice Cream Sandwich flavor that day was nutella and cookie butter with madagascar vanilla bean. Wow! It was really good! The bread is warm and soft. This makes the ordinary pandesal ice cream sandwiches seem like the lamest thing. And, what better spread could there be then nutella and cookie butter right? They complement the madagascar vanilla bean wonderfully.

When my friend referred me to Bar Dolci, I did not hesitate to try check it out. It is located in Forbes Road which is an extension of Burgos Circle between Sweet Bella and Bugsy's. Bar Dolci is Italian for "sweet bar", a perfect haven for someone with a sweet tooth like myself.
Upon entry, I was welcomed by a gelato chiller and a macaron shelf alluring me to try them. You'd notice that there are lots of names written on their wall too. Every time you buy, ask the staffs to mark on your name so you can get a FREE cup on your 10th purchase.
The second floor was divided into two parts. One had a casual dinning set up while the other had cozy seats similar to that of a lounge or cafe. For a fun bonding time, we preferred the cozy seats with small glassed tables that granted us a scenic view from the clear glass windows.

♥ Strawberry Ricotta Bruschetta (270 php/ 3 pcs.)
The Strawberry Ricotta Bruschetta is their home-made strawberry jam with a layer of ricotta atop a toasted slice of bagel. I was expecting this to be very sweet but it wasn't. The strawberry jam possessed a nice balance of sweet and tangy flavor. The mildly salty ricotta was also a great contrast to the sweetness.

The Roquefort Broccoli Quiche is filled with rich Roquefort cheese and broccoli. I loved the pungent taste followed by the smooth and creamy sensation brought about the Roquefort but since its an acquire taste, you might not be up to it like fellow Tsinoy Foodie Kurt.

Ferrero Gelato Burger (120 php)
The gelato burger deserves an applause for its innovation. Although the buns were served warm, the gelato inside is still frozen. I loved the rich Ferrero flavor. However, I found the contrast of the dry and rough buns to the creamy gelato not too appealing.

Pandan Gelato Burger (120 php)
I liked the Pandan Gelato Burger more than the Ferrero. I find its flavor more suitable to be paired with their buns.

♥ Mango Yogurt Sorbet Gelato (80 php)
Not that I don't like new concepts but nothing beats spooning a creamy gelato our of its cup. The texture of Bar Dolci's gelato was heavenly. I can't help but fall into its creamy indulgence. But, I found their yogurt too mild for my taste. Good thing it was partnered with mango which had a more gallant tangy taste.

Salted Caramel Macarons (50 php/pc)
Update (Sept 1, 2012):
Went back for some macarons. I loved the Cafe, Dark Chocolate and Green Tea. The Pistachio and Chocomint are pretty good too only that it had more sweetness to it. They have a buy 5 get 1 FREE Salted Caramel promo for the macarons. The I also tried their Strawberry Jelly and Black Currant Jelly (15 php) which are sugar coated jelly squares.
Bar Dolci offers great food and delicious gelato to make your experience even sweeter. I hope I get a chance to come back and try their other gelato flavors like the green tea and pistachio and their Frappelato which my friends were raving about. Although their price is a bit on the expensive side, the food quality is superb.

I won't deny it. I love ice cream! I find them irresistible especially this summer. So, during our last visit at Midnight Mercato (see separate entry), I just had to try Louie Luis Ice Cream Sandwich in French Vanilla flavor.
While we were purchasing an French Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich, the owner told us that this is the same ice cream sandwich that Magnolia phased out a long time ago.
The French Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich was served in a small tray and wrapped in a sealed foil.

♥ French Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich (40 php)
The French Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich is a smooth and creamy french vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two crispy wafers. The thickness of the wafer makes it a bit difficult to bite but it's still pretty good. The french vanilla is a perfect blend. It's taste reminded me of the imported ice cream bar that my family frequently buys.
Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
Louie Luis Ice Cream Sandwich is worth the try! Where else can you enjoy a delicious ice cream sandwich in the Metro? It's quite affordable too.
