A family friend suggested that we try their family favorite shawarma so he brought us to Nepo Mall in Angeles City Pampanga and led us to a stall named Passport Foods.

Crowds seem to gather to buy from it.  Customers come and go non-stop.  They have only 3 food items: Beef Lebanon Shawarma w/ cheese, Chicken Lebanon Shawarma w/ cheese and Samosa.  We wanted to try everything but only the Beef Lebanon Shawarma is available.


We watched as the staff prepared our Beef Lebanon Shawarma.  Instead of rolling the shawarma with the meat inside, they cut the pita and use the pockets to place the ingredients.

So here it is!  Indeed, the Beef Lebanon Shawarma is good.  It is distinct in taste I guess because of their special sauce.  The meat is chunky and seasoned enough.

We, Tsinoy Foodies, love shawarma.  Every time we are hungry, we always go to the nearby Shawarma Snack Center (SSC).  We are very happy with SSC because its open 24/7. Thus, for many years now, SSC has become our default midnight snacking place.


Shawarma Snack Center (SSC) offers a rustic ambiance similar to those of typical canteens.   It is owned by a Jordanian and Filipina couple so you can be assured that their mid eastern cuisines are authentic.  Despite the shabby look of the place, there are many foreigners dining there.  However, if you want a better ambiance, you can dine at the classier Shawarma Snack Center (SSC) Restaurant just opposite of this.  That's where we eat when we're eating for a meal with my family.  Price is a bit more expensive but the ambiance is better.  They also have shisha there.

Shawarma Snack Center (SSC) adopts the pay at the counter system.   They also sell middle-eastern dry goods in case you're interested.

Shawarma Snack Center (SSC) usually offers two types of shawarma: beef and chicken.  I usually opt for chicken but on this specific night the chicken will take 30 minutes more to cook so I had to settle with their Beef Shawarma.

Shawarma Snack Center (SSC) has two sauces: hot sauce and garlic yogurt sauce.   Never forget to ask for them!

The Beef Shawarma is really delicious!  The beef is so meaty and tasty.  The pita is served hot too.  Add on some of their hot sauce and their superb garlic yogurt sauce and I assure you, you will enjoy this!  This is simply one of the best shawarma you can find in the metro.  


Tip: In case you're wondering why we don't buy from SSC stalls found in malls like in Robinson's Place which is a shorter walk from our place.  We have observed that the shawarma from here which is served fresh tastes better.

We, Tsinoy Foodies, can never grow tired of the shawarma from the Shawarma Snack Center (SSC).  There are times where we eat this several times a week and we still love every biteful of it.  The entire shawarma is superb: the meat, the pita, the garnishes and the sauces!  They also have other interesting dishes, I'll share some of them on our next visit. =D
