We, Tsinoy Foodies, have always notice Krazy Garlik being packed whenever we shop at Greenbelt 5. So a few months ago, we finally dropped by at the Krazy Garlik Resorts World Manila. That branch is quite distant from our place but Resorts World Manila offers membership perks. =p
Krazy Garlik is one of the restaurants by the Bistro Group so we had high expectations. As garlic lovers, we were quite excited to try out their dishes.
Krazy Garlik has a casual dining interior with Krazy Garlik cartoons frames and stuff toys.
Food
Healthy Quenchers
Blessed by Ewa (180 php) |
Travel Sickness (180 php) |
Pink Slush (180 php) |
The Blessed by Ewa is a grape slushee with red grapes bits. The Travel Sickness is a blend of red apple, kiwi and pureed strawberry. The taste of strawberry is quite dominant. The Pink Slush is a mixture of watermelon and kiwi. Although all the drinks we ordered are very sweet, the pink slush is the sweetest that my little sister had to request for extra ice. Thus, given the intense sugar level, it makes you think twice whether the "Healthy Quenchers" are really healthy.
Appetizers
Gambas Al Ajillo (315 php) |
The Gambas Al Ajillo is sauteed shrimps in olive oil with lots of garlic bits. The garlic gave the shrimps fragrance and flavor. It was pretty good.
Garlic and Anchovy Affection (195 php) |
The Garlic and Anchovy Affection is garlic bread topped with garlic cloves roasted in olive oil and anchovies. The saltiness of the anchovy is contrasted by the garlic cloves which gave it a good balance.
Spinach and Cream Cheese (225 php) |
The Spinach and Cream Cheese are crunchy wanton wrapped triangles filled with cream cheese and a few spinach bits. I wish they added more spinach into this dish to have a better balance.
Salads
Caesar Salad Regular (295 php) |
The Caesar Salad is served with fresh romaine leaves, bacon, parmesan and french bread. It had anchovy dressing which was delicious!
Really Krazy Rice
Hara-Kiri to share (325 php) |
The Hara-Kiri is a spicy fried rice with bits of chilies, squids, shrimps and bacon. The spiciness tickles your taste buds with a garlicky taste.
Main Course
Garlicky Crispy Pata (695 php) |
The Garlicky Crispy Pata was perfect in terms of crispiness of the skin and the tenderness of the meat. The diced fried garlic enhanced the usual taste of this dish.
Oxtail and Chorizo Stew (650 php) |
The Oxtail and Chorizo Stew is oxtail, Spanish chorizo and garlic simmered in tomato stew. The Oxtail was soft and the distinguishing flavors of chorizo was a great compliment. The simple tomato stew is perfect with the garlic bits.
Mushroom Matsuri (350 php) |
The Mushroom Matsuri is a delight for mushroom lovers like me. The mushrooms were fun to chew but the sauce is a bit sweet.
Korean Style Garlic Sesame Beef (275 php) |
The Korean Style Garlic Sesame Beef had an intense sweet and salty sauce. It was good with rice.
40 Kloves Garlic Chicken to share (695 php) |
The 40 Kloves Garlic Chicken is a fried chicken with a garlic cream sauce. I enjoyed the garlic cream sauce. But, I was disappointed that it did not have a crunchy skin or even a succulent meat.
Grilled Squid (375 php) |
The Grilled Squid is good. But, I was expecting from the price that it had something special to offer.
Desserts
Crema Catalana (195 php) |
We all had high hopes with the Crema Catalana because of the menu recommendation. Unfortunately, the sweet caramelize garlic felt too foreign that it didn't sink in well with me.
Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
Krazy Garlik offers every dish with garlic. However, despite being a garlic fan, their offerings failed to drive me crazy. I felt that I could order the selections they offered somewhere else with a cheaper price.
