Greenbelt 5 is one of the grandest and luxurious mall in the Philippines. It hosts numerous stores of elite brands. Aside from retail, there are also many restaurants in Greenbelt 5. One of the famous dining places in Greenbelt 5 is Cibo. Cibo is a modern Italian restaurant with various branches. It first branch was established way back in 1997.

♥Spinaci Zola (235 php) |
The Spinaci Zola (spinach, gorgonzola) is a special spinach dip with gorgonzala cheese and olive oil. It comes with hot french bread served in a steel tray. This is one of Cibo's best sellers. It is also the most delicious spinach dip I have ever tried. The success of this dip is the proper blending between the spinach bits, gorgonzola cheese and olive oil. Cibo did it perfectly!
PANINI.sandwiches
Verdure Tartufate (205 php) |
The Verdure Tartufate (Tuscan wholewheat, asparagus, zucchini, fontina, mushroom-truffle, paste) is a light tasting grilled sandwich served with potato chips. It was good but it was not as sensational as the other dishes we had during that time.
INSALATA.salads
Insalata Di Verdura alla griglia (208 php) |
This beautiful Insalata Di Verdura alla griglia (grilled eggplant, zucchini, mushrooms, red pepper, yellow peppers, red pesto) had a light taste of pesto. I loved this dish because you could appreciate the natural flavor of the grilled eggplant.
PASTA.pasta
Cibo gives their customers the option of choosing between their default regular pasta or wheat pasta. As health conscious individuals, we chose the wheat pasta although the preparation time is 15 minutes longer. As expected, the wheat pasta was tougher to chew than the regular. We totally don't mind since we're used to wheat pasta having this type of texture.
Spaghettini Alla Pecatora (263 php) |
The Spaghettini Alla Pecatora (sauteed seafood, stewed tomato) is the typical seafood tangy pasta with stewed tomato with a hint of saltiness. The dish is good but it did not leave any unique impression.
Rigatoni All'Alfonso (325 php) |
The Rigatoni All'Alfonso (shrimps, chives, stewed tomato, cream, chili peppers) is a pasta with a twist because of the mixture of red tomato sauce and cream. Aside from that, it also had a great blending of the sweetness from the shrimp and light spiciness from the chili peppers. It was the best among all our pasta orders.
Farfalle Alla Genovese (263 php) |
Unlike the others, which where angel hair pastas, the Farfalle Alla Genovese (mushrooms, basil, pesto, cream) had bow-tie noodles. I'm not really a fan of pesto pasta because it gets too tiring to eat ("nakakumay") when you eat a certain amount. But Cibo's Farfalle Alla Genovese had a light pesto taste blended with the cream so it was really good.
Spaghettini Ala Primavera (240 php) |
The Spaghettini Ala Primavera (asparagus, zucchini, eggplant, mushroom, red & yellow peppers, cream) is a light pasta dish. Sometimes, its also satisfying to eat pasta with simple taste like this one.
MANZO.beef
♥Tagliata Di Manzano Fontina Pomodoro (443 php) |
The Tagliata Di Manzano Fontina Pomodoro (beef tenderloin, roast, sliced, foccacia, topped by fontina tomato) was the most expensive dish we ordered but it was certainly the best! We've dined at different Italian restaurants before but it was our first time to try this dish. The beef was thinly sliced like the Carpaccio, another great Italian dish. However, instead of vinegar, this had tomatoes, cheese, olive oil and a hint of wine.
PIZZA.pizza
Napolitana and Caviale Salmone Pizza |
It's great the you could order two flavors in one because they have so many pizza varieties, you'd want to taste as much as you can. We chose half Napolitana (tomato, mozzarella, olives, capers, anchovy) in tomato sauce and half Caviale Salmone (Mozzarella, lumpfish caviar, smoked salmon, cream cheese and chives) which had white sauce. The Napolitana offered a great blend of sourness from the tomato paste and saltiness from the anchovies. On the other hand, the Caviale Salmone was unique because it had lumps of lumpfish caviar and cream cheese and thinly sliced of smoke salmon. I enjoyed the experience of eating pizza with caviar.
Cibo is one of the few restaurants known for their consistency in terms of excellent tasting dishes and service. It also has a modern and cozy ambiance. We'd gladly come back to taste more of Cibo's dishes.
