Ye Dang Korean B.B.Q Restaurant is one of the most popular authentic Korean Restaurants in Pasig. Good words about its prominence has been passed on to many.


Despite its wide parking space, it becomes fully occupied during peak hours.

Once you enter, you will be welcomed by the loud chatters of dining crowd.  The Korean owner is usually there to oversee the operations and assure that you are ushered to a table.

Complimentary Ban Chan or Side Dishes

Upon ordering, they will serve seven kinds of Complimentary Ban Chan or Side Dishes: baechu kimchi (spicy fermented cabbage), Kkakdugi (spicy fermented white raddish), Sigeumchi namul (lightly parboiled spinach dressed with sesame oil, garlic, and soy sauce), Myulchi Bokkeum (stir-fried anchovies), Pajeon (green onion pancake), Al Gam Ja Jorim (potato in soy sauce) and Dubu Jorim (spicy tofu).

They fill also prepare the charcoal for your grill.

♥ Dak Gui (Grill Chicken) (300 php)

The Dak Gui is a well-marinated grilled chicken. This is our family favorite.

The waiters will assist in placing your orders on the grill but it's your job to make sure you turn them before they get burnt.

Samgyupsal (Roast Pork Belly) (250 php)

We occasionally order the Samgyupsal which is a roasted pork belly.  Why occasionally? Well, its sinfully delicious as you can see from the fatty marbled pork meat.

The Samgyupsal is cooked with the onions.


Eat it with your choice of dipping sauces and garlic.

The lettuce leaves are refillable.

Samgaetang (Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup) (600 php)

The Samgaetang  which is Korean ginseng chicken soup is another of our favorite.  It has lots of scallions and a light ginseng taste.
 

♥ Galbichim (300 php)

The Galbichim is beef short ribs stew.  This is delicious!

Ye Dang Korean BBQ Restaurant is a recommendable authentic Korean restaurant for its great food quality, good service and reasonable pricing.

As much as I want to tap into the dining places in the Tomas Morato area, I just couldn't make myself go all the way there just to dine and then travel back home again.  But when I found out about the unique experience Bar B Skew has to offer, I'm the one who even invited my friends at The Foodies Circle to go there. 

Bar B Skew right at the center of the busy brightly-lit-especially-at-night area of Tomas Morato cor. Timog.  It's very easy to find with adequate with parking spaces.

Even from the outside, their custom made auto-rotating charcoal grilling tables makes them distinctively noticeable.  You can enjoy al fresco outside or inside with their efficient ventilation system. 

They have a chiller with a wide array of Street Food.  For those are health and hygiene conscious like me, I'm sure you'll understand how happy I was to glance at the selections nicely and neatly placed in a single chiller for my convenience.  My friends and I got our plates and filled it up with our choice of street food skewers. 

They also adopt self-service when it comes to water, napkins, brushes and basting sauces. 

Garlic Butter, Plain Sweet, Sweet & Spicy, Ginger Sesame and Hot Pepper

We tried all the basting sauces but we found it difficult to distinguish one from another since we were using the same brush.  I think I loved the Sweet & Spicy the most.


As soon as we were seated, the table top was filled with hot charcoal and the machine was turned on to auto-rotate. 


We filled it up with everything we got.  Although the selections vary per day, we're pretty much happy with what was offered.  For our main course, we had Chicken Barbecue, Pork Barbecue,♥ Cream Dory Fillet, ♥ Chicken Wings, Chicken Intestine (Isaw), Chicken Blood (Betamax), Chicken Gizzard (Baticolon), Chicken Liver (Atay), Kikiam, Hotdogs, Cheesedogs and ♥ Corn.

I was actually my first time to try the Chicken Blood (Betamax).  I've never had the guts to try it from street vendors due to cleanliness issues so it was nice to finally get the chance.  It was tasteless and not worth the guilt in my honest opinion.

I think I ate a lot of the Cream Dory Fillet, Chicken Intestine (Isaw), Chicken Gizzard (Baticolon) and  Chicken Liver (Atay).  The Cream Dory Fillet is everyone's favorite.  Grilling the Kikiam was very tricky.  We tend to overcook that one. 


For dessert skewers, we had the Chocolate Marshmallows and Bananas and Pineapple.  These are easily cooked so better pay attention cause the bananas loosen up and the Chocolate Marshmallows can get very gooey. 

Overall, the group consumed 64 sticks in total!  We didn't realize how much we've had because we were having so much fun, basting and chatting.

Bar B Skew offers an awesome auto-rotating charcoal grilling experience you surely can't miss!  I advise you to go over there as soon as you can and bring lots of company for a fun and enjoyable time.  They have serve drinks too at an affordable price.  In fact, I'm planning to bring my drinking buddies (they drink I eat) here sometime in the future.  I'm sure they'll love it!

When visiting the Mercato Centrale Sunday Market and craving for a burgers, Big Bob's Charcoal Grilled Burgers is your best option.


Their specialty is Big Bob's Special Burger served hot wrapped in aluminum foil.

Upon unwrapping the Big Bob's Special Burger looks a bit messy because it was oozing with mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard and cheese.

But once you bite, you'll won't mind digging in.  Aside from the 1/3 pound pure beef patty, there's a big slab of bacon to add more flavor.  The Big Bob's Special Burger is one tasty fulfilling burger.

♥ Grilled Angus Beef Belly (150 php)

The Grilled Angus Beef Belly is a complete meal that will surely leave you satisfied.  It is serve with a large chunk of hot charcoal-grilled USDA Certified Angus Beef Belly, Bar-B-Rice, corn and carrors, Au Jus Gravy, tinola soup and a drink of your choice.  The Bar-B-Rice and the tinola soup is unlimited.  But, I doubt you could have one to many rice refills since the Angus Beef Belly is heavy by itself.  The Angus Beef Belly was served hot of the grill so it was tender, savory and succulent.  The Bar-B-Rice is pretty tasty too.  The flavor is unique like a java rice with a hint of barbecue sauce.  It is good to note that they always refill with the Bar-B-Rice unlike other chains that only offer plain rice on your subsequent servings.

Tinola Soup

The Tinola Soup is also unlimited.  It has a strong flavor of salt and seasoning.  Don't expect much from it other than a great warm complement 

UPDATE (August 12, 2012): Got a chance to visit Bar-B-King Charcoal-Grilled Barbecue again yesterday and there has been a drastic change in experience.   I'll try to make a comparative post soon!
