Lately, I've been experimenting with my time schedule. So after work, I tried squeezing in attending a yoga class. One day I was feeling extra energetic so I did two classes back to back: Vinayasa 1 and Rocket Yoga. And... then I ended up in the mood to try H.I.D Burgers.
If you frequently gas up at the Caltex Station along Buendia, then you've probably noticed H.I.D Burger's Makati branch. But, I don't so I recently just discovered this place.
To my surprise, H.I.D Burgers Makati branch is packed during meal hours.
The crowd is a mix bunch from couples to group of friends.
I was hungry so as soon I was able to raid a seat, I began lining up to order.
They had a tempting challenge but someone tipped me about their sort of secret menu. You can choose any burger and upgrade it to "Go Raclette" for an addition of 40 php.
And, you could also add on some Twister Fries which is also not on the menu for an addition of 45 php.
Food
Burgers
If you want the attention of the crowd, order any burger just like my H.I.D BLT Combo (155 php) and then "Go Raclette" (add 40 php). Of course, everyone was looking at it while the server poured the hot raclette on top of my burger.
For the price I didn't think that my burger would be this big and this cheesy!!!
Had I known, I would have brought some company to share with. I look around and although in groups, everyone had their own burger. I guess it's because H.I.D's burgers is very reasonable so even if you don't finish it, it's still wise to just take home the rest.
You can use their plastic gloves or like me just use knife and fork. Because just look at the size of their beef patty plus sausage plus bacon. And, they only have 1 size! This is the standard size.
And, their bacon is not the fatty small cut. It is a big, long and lean strip. There are several pieces of it too.
Hot Wings
This is first time I've encountered honey and srircha wings. Although I prefer an intense spiciness, sometimes mild to appreciate the flavor is good too. The honey was evident but I didn't feel any spiciness at all from the sriracha. It also didn't feel like chili but more of pepper. It was surprisingly good. The size was the biggest I've encountered. And, the outer coating is perfectly crunchy while the meat was juicy! I think I enjoyed this more than the burger.
Another must try is the Cheesy Bacon Wedge Fries. How can we resist a cheese and bacon combination right? Order this for sharing because again they offer generous serving!
Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
While I'm not sure if H.I.D Burgers really stands for its transliteration of "Healthy"... but it is "Irresistibly Delicious" for a shockingly affordable price. If you want a really heavy meal without breaking the bank, you can go here. And, be sure to bring some company too because the serving size is generous!

Tagaytay City has become more than just a chill place for people who seek relaxation. It has now become a food haven. Aside from the famous established food joints, there are new food places to visit like Meer Cafe.
With Tagaytay City being more commercialized, I really noticed that most restaurants have a high price point.
When I went to Meer Cafe, I had that impression too because of its chic and cozy ambiance.
The mismatch tables and chairs offered a cool vibe. While plush lofts and seats offers a comfortable stay.
Food
Wow! We were really surprised by their menu. Everything was under 100 php. Of course, I was skeptic. I would think maybe they lacked in taste or the portion is so small. But, upon trying our first order: Buffalo Chicken Wings, I knew I hit the jackpot by trying out Meer Cafe.
And, the menu had a wide selection. They even have healthy and vegetarian dishes.
Pasta / Noodles
Could you believe that their Pad Thai Noodles is only 65 php? Mind you it is good! The only thing I could find here that could use an improvement is too lessen the sweetness a bit.
Kids will surely enjoy these Slider.
Lunch x Dinner
And, surely everyone will love this huge Crispy Pata.
Salad
The Chicken With Mango Salad is so fresh!
Chefs Special
The Budhas Delight is my veggie choice. This is really a delight to all whether Budha, Buddha, me or you.
One of the must order and incredibly affordable is the Baby Back Ribs.
Dessert
I don't blame you for over ordering because many will fit your budget but save room for dessert!
Cakes
Meer's Blueberry Cheesecake is hands down one of the best cheesecakes I've tried!
Drinks
The drinks are instagram-worthy but they are also as sweet as they look.
Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
If you're in Tagaytay and looking for a satisfying meal that guarantees that you won't break the bank even when you're in big groups, Meer Cafe is the best option! I don't think you can find an incredibly delicious yet affordable meal like this in Tagaytay and more so in Metro Manila.

SM City Manila is just a few minutes away from home. During my OJT, it is also my second home which is why I've reviewed most dining establishments there. I thought I've covered it all but when I received an invite to the Manilennial Eats Food Crawl, I've discovered that there's are new food places to explore. Let me share with you the 10 food destinations we visited.
First Stop: Buffalo Wings n' Things
If you're looking for an addictive treat without spiciness, the Garlic Parmesan Champion Buffalo Wings is a great choice.
I personally like it with the bones, but you can opt for the No Bones Fun if you want.
Second Stop: 8 Street Bites
This is my second time at 8 Street Bites. Since my first visit, I wanted to try more of its menu items.
No words are required to tell you how irresistible it is to dig in into the Freeway Nachos. The price is very reasonable so there's no reason not to order.
The Country Fried Chicken Steak with Milk Gravy is a must try!
Third Stop: Choobi Choobi
Among all the dishes we've tried, the Salt and Pepper Shrimp is my fave. Now that we're into Choobi Choobi, let me tell you that ever since it has opened in SM Manila, it has been our family's favorite. (So sorry I was just so lazy to blog about it because I tend to want to eat with my hands and not bring out my camera)
Fourth Stop: Hot Star Large Fried Chicken
It's been a long time since I first visited Hot Star Large Chicken at their pioneer branch. I'm happy to update that they now have Dimsum Bowls, Chicken Cuts Meals and new Ala Carte items.
Fifth Stop: Tokyo Joe
If you're an instagram follower, you'd see that the family has already tried Tokyo Joe before. (Yes, pardon my lazyness I forgot to blog it again... which is why you should also follow on IG right? =D)
I've tried all these items before, but now I noticed that the flavor is stronger. My preference is towards subtle taste but maybe they adjusted it somehow to Filipino taste buds.
Sixth Stop: Mad for Pizza
I've tried Mad For Pizza back when it was in Il Terrazo so I was expecting more or less of the same menu. But, turns out they revamped everything except for the Make Your Own Pizza Concept. I loved the old concept but pricing now fits a student budget and the serving size is satisfying.
Seventh Stop: Ramen Cool
Two years ago, I blogged about the RCool Ramen having overcooked egg. Well, look at it now, perfectly runny! And, the broth is more flavorful. I'm very happy with the improvement.
Eigth Stop: Wicked Waffle
I was never a waffle fan but Wicked Waffle's Berry Banana Split is so good I couldn't stop myself from finishing it. Hands down this is the best waffle dessert I've tried.
Ninth Stop: Red Table
I've previously shared how I loved and frequented Red Table. Well, their new item made me love it even more!
Tenth Stop: Big Daddy's
I've tried Big Daddy's several times. (Yes, again lazy to blog about it). But, I always order their meat selections. I've just discovered that their Seafood Penne is just as good and as affordable. It has a slight sweet blend like our pinoy style spaghetti.
