Angus Beef Tapa Lady by Jam Foods: Breakfast in Mercato Centrale Sunday Market

Last year, we Tsinoy Foodies decided to have a breakfast at Mercato Centrale Sunday Market.  We've been hearing a lot of great things about the Angus Beef Tapa Lady by Jam Foods so fellow Tsinoy Foodie Kurt decided to buy one for us to try out.

Like any other concessionaire at Mercato Centrale, they offered FREE samples.  But, Kurt has a very strict principle on taking anything for FREE so I guess he just chose the Korean variant randomly.

The Korean Angus Beef Tapa (150 php) was cooked on the spot upon order together with the egg cooked sunny side up.  It was minced into tiny bits while on the grill too.

Upon tasting, we didn't understand what the hype over this was about.  Aside from being dry and a bit overcooked, we could not appreciate the meaty Angus Beef taste.  Could it have been because it was minced with a lot of fats?  For the price, we don't think the serving portions is justifiable too.

Angus Beef Tapa Lady by Jam Foods is famous for its Angus Beef Tapa.  During our recent visit, we noticed that they now offer Angus Beef Salpicao.  Since we are eager to enjoy the taste of Angus Beef meat that might fit our preference more.  What do you think?
