Dolce Vita Steakhouse: My Romantic Recommendation (Closed)

Ever dissed a restaurant because it looked a little bit appealing from the outside?  Well, if you've been previously doing that, perhaps you've been missing out on a lot of wonderful restaurants like Dolce Vita Steakhouse.

From the outside, the Dolce Vita Steakhouse sign may be too simple.  But, allow it to lure you in its unique reception area and a concierge will guide you inside.

Passing by the waiting area will already give you a hint of what's beyond its big wooden doors.

As we, Tsinoy Foodies, entered, we were enthralled by its dimly lit atmosphere with venetian masks hanged on its walls.

Our visit was actually on Valentines Day, a day I consider more special than most days. Thus, I chose Dolce Vita Steakhouse as the perfect venue with its ambiance and music that led us into a romantic trance.  Although the day didn't begin as I had planned, I wanted it to end as an unforgettable special night.

Dolce Vita Steakhouse Master Chef Tiziano Cavilli is a star chef who has been called by Queen Elizabeth and tenor Luciano Pavarotti.  With that in mind, I knew we were in good hands.

Complimentary Bread with Liver Pate and Garlic Butter

As we waited for our orders, we were given complementary set of bread.  The moment I noticed the  Liver Pate, I already sensed that the evening will turn out well.  My date loves Liver Pate.

After being advise that her initial order of black ink ravioali was not available for the night, my date settle for the Tortellacci Al Porcini as recommended by our server.   The Tortellacci Al Porcini  is a Home-made ravioli stuffed with  assorted mushroom in porcini sauce.  It was our first time to encounter the type of ravioli they served.  It was thin, round and flat.  Yet, it was exploding with flavors.

♥ Pizza 4 Formaggi (520php)

I ordered the  Pizza 4 Formaggi which is a white pizza with 4 different kind of Italian Cheese.  According to the waitress, this is one of their best sellers.  I was convinced that this is definitely something I had to try  since I love pizzas and cheeses that are not too strong in odor. It was served with their special balsamic cream.  The  balsamic cream is a perfect complement to their pizza.  Both the balsamic cream and the Pizza 4 Formaggi are good enough separately but combined, it becomes naturally irresistible.

Tiramisu (290php)

Although my date was insisting that she was already full, I knew that her sweet tooth could not bear missing out on dessert.  I requested for the menu and chose her classic Italian favorite, the Tiramisu.  As we waited for our order the group of musicians approached our table and serenaded us.  Soon, the Tiramisu was served chilled just the way it should be.  I watched as my date delightfully smiled in every spoonful of it.

Update (September 8, 2012): We've passed by this place and noticed it is replaced by a new restaurant named "Cucina ni Chef".  But, La Dolce Vita in Polaris St. Makati is still open if you want to try this out.  The food is the same but the ambiance is not as formal.

Tsinoy Foodies Verdict

Dolce Vita Steakhouse is a great place to enjoy a romantic dinner.  We observed that both foreigners and locals enjoy their dates there.  You can enjoy intimate conversations with its cozy and tranquil ambiance.  The food is impressive.  The price is certainly worth every peso.  The music and service is also excellent.  We both recommend this place. =)
