Relik Tapas Bar: Food as Good as its Parties

Ever since I tried Relik during its opening days, I've been trying to convince my family to visit it too.  Last month, we finally got to try it out.

relik tapas bar
Relik is located at the second level of Commerce Center Building.  It's actually on top of Kuppa Roastery Cafe.  There is a wide parking area and indoors too so it's convenient even when it's raining.

relik tapas bar
It has bricked walls hanged with all discs, photos, articles and other vintage items.  It has a LCD TV and DJ booth which is necessary when it turns into a live party place during the late hours.  Despite its mix and matched fixtures, the whole place surprisingly brings a warm and nostalgic feel.

Food

Let's Start with Tapas
potato bomba
Potato Bomba (160 php)
The Potato Bomba is Relik's version of a ham and cheese croquette with aoili.  It had a golden coating which was perfectly crunchy filled with smooth finely mashed potato that bore a hint of ham and cheese.

reliks beef tenderloin salpicao
Relik's Beef Tenderloin Salpicao (320 php)
Relik's Beef Tenderloin Salpicao is exactly as how I remembered it.  It was so tender and succulent.        It's so good you'd wish there was more.

quesadillas bbq chicken
Quesadillas BBQ Chicken (or what's left of it sorry I was too slow) (300 php)
The Quesadillas BBQ Chicken was served warm with oozing cheese so everybody was excited to eat it.  I even forgot to take a picture and only realized when only my share was left. =p

The Greenhouse
pomelo citrus green salad
Pomelo and Citrus Green Salad (In our case substituted with Strawberry) (210 php)
Since there were no pomelo, they offered to substitute it with strawberries which we didn't mind.  We've had salads with strawberry while in Baguio, so why not?  We're glad we did.  It was delicious.  The sweet fragrant strawberries together with the mandarin orange slices were a great match with the sesame vinaigrette.  We enjoyed this salad very much.

Let's Get Serious
mother anns braised ox tail
Mother Ann's Braised Ox Tail (450 php)
The Mother Ann's Braised Ox Tail is soft and bold with flavors.  It is probably one of the best one I've tried!

reliks mixed paella
 Relik's Mixed Paella (820 php)
The Relik's Mixed Paella needs to be ordered a day in advance.  Just a bite from this sent me a blissful spike of happiness with its rich tomato sauce covered paella and generous toppings.  It didn't have any socarrat at the bottom as we were able to sweep this pan clean easily.  Although it was advise for 8-10 persons, we felt wanting for more even though there were only six of us.

Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
Relik serves food as good as its parties.  I may not be a party person but I'm glad my mouth is wild and happy with their food.  Price is a bit on the high side I guess that's what you should be expecting when dining in a Tapas Bar.  Both Spanish and Boos indicate shelling out but without regret since they are both irresistible right?
