Lutong Macau: Affordable Hongkong Flavors

Lutong Macau is one of my families favorite take out places for Chinese food.  It is located along Jupiter St. in Makati City.  

Macau is a place in Hongkong where my father-side ancestry originate. Thus, its no surprise that we enjoy Lutong Macau's dishes.  But, sometimes I wonder if the name pertains to the Filipino term "Lutong Macau" that means that something is already prepared in advance.  

The ambiance in Lutong Macau is typical for a casual dining Hongkong restaurant.  It has an open kitchen where you can view your food being prepared.  You can also see the cold cuts hanged by the glass window.

♥ Hot & Sour Sze Chuan Soup (240 php)

One order of the Hot & Sour Sze Chuan Soup is already good for five persons.  It was perfectly done in terms of taste and texture.

Dimsum

Lutong Macau Siao-Long-Pao (98 php)

The Lutong Macau Siao-Long-Pao had a flavorful broth.  But, I prefer a silkier dim sum skin.

Fried Rice

Fookien Fried Rice (240 php)

The Fookien Fried Rice has a generous amount of ingredients.  It is also served in a large portion.

2 Kinds of Vegetables in Dried Scallop (320 php)

The 2 Kinds of Vegetables in Dried Scallop had a light taste which emphasizes the flavors of the dried scallop shreds.

♥ Fried Crispy Frog Legs

The Fried Crispy Frog Legs is a family favorite.  The garlicky taste complimented the frog legs well.  It was very crispy on the outside and succulent on the inside.  I love this!

Dessert

Sesame Balls (Buchi) (88 php)

The Sesame Balls (Buchi) is my little sisters favorite.  We just always have to order this.  She was very please with the version of Lutong Macau in terms of size, texture and taste.

♥ Mango Snow Balls (Mango Lomichi) (88 php)

I loved their Mango Snow Balls (Mango Lomichi).  It was soft and chewy and the mango filling is delicious!

Tsinoy Foodies Verdict

Lutong Macau offers delicious Chinese dishes in generous proportions.  It's great for group dining.  The crowd is a great indicator of its food quality.  The place is usually packed.  They have a large parking area but it is often full.
