After dining at Jun Jun's Bibingka and Barbecue, we were about to ride the car where we noticed A La Creme Cake Shop and Cafe just beside it.

I thought was just kidding when she asked if we wanted to try it.  But, when everyone said "Go! Go! Let's go!", we really headed our way over to A La Creme Cake Shop and Cafe.

It was a cozy cafe and diner in one.  The green and white motif is very appealing to the eyes.

Noticing the cake chiller by the end of the room, I quickly walked there to check it out.

They have a full-blown menu but since we just had our lunch, we just focused on their cakes.

Cakes

♥ Blueberry Cheesecake (102 php)

The Blueberry Cheesecake is so good!  It has a nice light yet rich and creamy texture.  The tone of sweetness is just right.

♥ Sinful Chocolate Cake (132 php)

The Sinful Chocolate Cake was highly recommended by our server.  He said, this is a must try for all their customers.  It is partially iced so we can't take it home.  My mom is not fond of chocolate cakes and yet she just couldn't resist this!  This is definitely one-of-a-kind and a must try in ones lifetime. 

♥ Sinful Chocolate Cake (132 php)

We loved it so much!  Even the chocolate on the side was appreciated.

♥ Ube Macapuno with Walnut Cake (102 php)

I love Ube Cakes.  If you love them just like I do, make sure you try the Ube Macapuno with Walnut Cake.   It has a generous portion of macapuno and walnut bits which greatly complements the rich ube chiffon and icing.

A La Creme Cake Shop and Cafe is a must-try for their cakes.  When we were there, we noticed that many came in to take out a box of cake.  The only negative feedback I can give is on their service.  We came all the way from Manila with a lot planned for our Pampanga Food Trip so we were really turned off by the bad service and long waiting time (more than 30 minutes) just for our cakes to be served.

Cupcakes by Sonja is one of the pioneers of cupcake shops here in the Metro.  Its success has quickly paved way to many branches sprouting like mushrooms.  They cupcakes has also become one of the popular food items in a party.  

Mini Cupcakes
I recently attended a party with a mini cupcake buffet.  I was told by the host that the mini cupcakes are made to order at a minimum order of a dozen with 4 days advance notice.

I think the mini cupcakes are a good idea because it allows you to try more flavors and makes each cupcake easy to finish.

Dessert Comes First, ♥ Peppermint Patty, Vanilla Sunshine and Bunny Hugger Carrot

The  Peppermint Patty is a Valrhona dark chocolate cupcake topped with peppermint frosting. 

Bunny Hugger Carrot

The Bunny Hugger Carrot is a  moist classic carrot cupcake hinted with cinnamon and topped with cream cheese icing.

♥ Lemon Drop, Mocha Motion and PB & J

The Lemon Drop is a light vanilla chiffon cupcake covered in sour lemon buttercream frosting.  The Mocha Motion is a chocolate cupcake topped with a dollop of frothy mocha buttercream on top.

♥ Red Velvet Vixen

The Red Velvet Vixen is their best seller!  It is the traditional Southern Red Velvet cupcake made with Belgian cocoa and topped with luscious cream cheese icing.

Cupcakes by Sonja is sure to please guests in any party.  With so many flavors to choose from, I'm sure one will fit your sweetness preference.  They continuously make new flavors too.

As much as I love to walk on dry pavement very now and then, I just can't stand the humid feel in this blazing hot summer.  I often find myself craving for cold sweet treats and thanks to my friend Sumi, I got to try out Masatami Shave Ice once again. 

This humble yet artsy wooden hut is located at the outdoor areas of SM Mall of Asia.

♥ Rainbow Shave Ice with Snow Cap and Vanilla Ice Cream (55 php + 10 php + 20 php)

As soon as my order was handed to me, I couldn't help but smile with excitement over the huge Rainbow Shave Ice with Snow Cap and Vanilla Ice Cream.  It was very visually appealing with its colorful flavors.  It's actually kind of cute.  If a guy wants to impress his girl with a sweet tooth, I'm sure she'll be pleased if he buys her this.
 

♥ Rainbow Shave Ice with Snow Cap and Vanilla Ice Cream (55 php + 10 php + 20 php)

I've tried snow cones before but this has got to be the best I've tried yet.  I loved spoonful and slurps of this.  The snow cap really upgrades this to another level.  I also love the smooth and creaminess that the vanilla ice cream delivers. 

Flavored Shaved Ice

♥ Buko Pandan with Pearls and Nata de Coco Large (85 php + 8 php + 8 php)

I really love Buco Pandan. And, this Flavored Shave Ice version is simply delightful that I'd definitely like to have it again.

I'll try this with Azuki Beans like their menu photo next time because sadly, they ran out of it.

Flavor of the Week

It's kind of cool that they have a Flavor of the Week selection so you can always look forward to trying something new.

Nutella Large (140 php)

If you're among the many Nutella fans, you'll certainly like this.  It captures the nutty goodness of Nutella with an addition of peanut bits.

I highly recommend Masatami Shave Ice as a must stop for a refreshing cup of shave ice this blazing hot summer.  Their cold sweet treats are great for sharing too.  But, its so good you might wanna get your own. 

Blue Toque is a new line of sweet creations by Mary Anne Ramos who graduated from Ateneo and then pursued her passion in baking in ISCAHM.  Thus, the name of the brand represents her two alma mater. 

The Ultimate (150 php/slice, 625 php/6", 1195 php /9")

The Ultimate (150 php/slice, 625 php/6", 1195 php /9")

The Ultimate is a multi-layer chocolate mousse cake which has won in the Foodgasm Taste Test 2012 and Ultimate Taste Test 8.0.  It had a rich chocolate ganache top, rich velvety mousse followed by an even richer chocolate ganache layer and then nutty crunchy crust.  This cake melts in your mouth with overwhelming smoothness in every bite.  But, I found this too sweet to eat in just one sitting.

Ever since J Co. Doughnuts & Coffee has arrived in Manila, I've been eager to try it out.  I've read a lot of feedbacks about it from fellow food bloggers.
Upon entering J Co. Doughnuts & Coffee Megamall Branch, I found myself instantaneously enticed with their doughnuts as they were displayed on long glass trays.

J Co. Doughnuts & Coffee serves a good variety of delightful donuts.  The texture of the donuts are superb even until the next day.  They are so soft and pleasurably chewy.  Since they have a lot of choices, I'm sure you'll find one that will fit to your liking.  I like that their flavors are not too sweet.  My family loved this too so I think I'll be buying more of these for the family in the future.
