When we first dined at Golden China, we found it to be too pricey and the food was not impressive.

The Roasted Goose Hongkong Style was perfectly cooked.  The hot plate was an excellent idea.

♥ Steamed Live Lapu-Lapu

We appreciate the Steamed Live Lapu-Lapu which tasted so sweet and fresh and also de-boned for our convenience.

♥ Stewed Abalone with Red Beans

♥ Baked Shrimp with Plums

We are glad to discover the Baked Shrimp with Plums.  We will probably order this again.
 

♥ Sauteed Asparagus with Black Fungus and Chinese Yam

Baked Crab with Salted Egg Yolk

The Baked Crab with Salted Egg Yolk was wiped clean.  No further descriptions need!

♥ Birthday Noodles

This is the best Birthday Noodles we've tried yet.  The noodles were light and there was no evident oiliness upon eating it.

♥ Golden China Egg Tart and Puff Pastry

The Golden China Egg Tart was really good!  We'd even prefer these over Lord Stow's.  The texture was superb.  There was no oiliness that would stick to your hands and it was so light and crisp that the crust crumbles gently in every bite.  The puffs were also delicious!

Food
To be honest, on most days, I'm on a happy-go-lucky jolly foodie mode.  But, my family would know that I have this zoned out moments.  On this dinner, I was pretty much in that mood especially since the service was terrible and the food way to long before they even served the food.  

Then, food began to be served and I had a sip of their nido soup and everything that follows.  

♥ Steamed Suahe

The shrimp was so sweet.  I could tell it was boiled alive.  








I don't know who ordered this but with guilt comes goodness right?

♥ Mango Sago

As long as Chinese Restaurants ends by serving chilled Mango Sago, you can almost be assured that it ends with a smile especially, when it's more bowls than persons per table.

Asian Taste Seafood Restaurant offered superb Chinese food for an affordable price..  The only drawback is the slow service.  Being a newly opened restaurant, we have high hopes that they could still work on it.

Perhaps, it's because we're from Manila so we've never heard of Xin Tian Di until they had a discount for BDO card holders (Thanks Achi Rowena of Animetric.Net for the tip!)

One random weekend, we reserved a table just to try it out.


It is a bit more modern the traditional Chinese restaurant.  It has tea displays.  


And, there's a cold cut station and a chiller of fruits.


I initially thought that the dining area was small...


that was before we were ushered to the function room which I'm guessing is allocated for those who will avail of the discount.

Being in the function room made it difficult to call the attention of the staffs.  Good thing Kate was kind enough to be attentive to us.  We are almost invisible to the other servers.

The Steamed Cod with Wild Mushrooms is not on the menu.  It was suggested by Kate which we approved.  Indeed, it is a must try!  It's the highlight of our meal.

The Beancurd and Scallop in Celery Sauce is also not on the menu but suggested.  This is the first time I've encountered such a dish and we loved it!

♥ Fried Rice with Fresh and Dried Scallops Small (480 php)

♥ Ampalaya Buchi (100 php)

Don't let the appearance of the Ampalaya Buchi fool you.  It actually contained melted dark chocolate inside.  We enjoyed it so much we ordered one for each!

Xin Tian Di just needs to work on their marketing because the food here is really good.  The pricing is also reasonable yet I hardly encounter any Chinese occasion being celebrated here.
