Tsok.Nut Batirol in RCBC Plaza Makati

Last Christmas, Kurt and I discovered another great place to hang out near my school at RCBC Plaza named Tsok.Nut Batirol.  This was all thanks to the gift certificate we won from Eat's A Date.

Tsok.Nut Batirol had a simple ambiance with a native Filipino feel.  It had wooden tables and semi-rattan chairs.

We wanted to drink something cool since it was hot that day.  We initially wanted to try the Tsoko Loco because we're assuming based on their name that "Tsoko" (chocolate) was their specialty.  Unfortunately, the Tsoko Loco was unavailable at the time so we had to settle with their Iced Cappucino.   When the Iced Cappucino was served, we were surprised that it came with whipped cream because it was only priced at 95 php.  It was pretty good.

We were deciding whether to order the Brownies with Walnut, the Chocolate Cake or the Tablea Cake.  The helpful cashier told us that the Tablea Cake was bitter sweet compared to the Chocolate Cake so we decided to order it.  I love bitter-sweet chocolate.  We made the right decision because the Tablea Cake was so delicious.  It was so soft, moist and bitter-sweet indeed!  But, this is no ordinary chocolate cake because it had a hint of peanut taste.  Finally, the food was aligned with our initial perception when we found out their name was Tsok.Nut Batirol.  Tsok.Nut is chocolate and nut right?

Seeing their Christmas advertisement the moment we came in, I was enticed to buy a pack of 6 of their Ensaymada with Quezo de Bola for the family.  The Ensaymada with Quezo de Bola had too much cream cheese that it overpowered the delicious taste of the Quezo de Bola shreds.  I felt really bad to have paid for the Quezo de Bola which I really liked but was not able to appreciate its taste.  The texture of the pastry was dried and coarse.

Have you tried Tsok.Nut Batirol?  Am I correct to assume that it's better to stick with their "Tsoko" selections?

Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
Tsok.Nut Batirol serves drinks at an affordable price so its a perfect alternative to the more expensive coffee shops.  Although it is the first time we have encountered the establishment, we have observed that they have regular customers who are already familiar with their staffs.   Tsok.Nut Batirol's  Tablea Cake was really good.  We'll probably come back again for a  Tablea Cake and to taste their specialty Tsokolate Ah Batirol or the Tsoko Loco
